For what projects/services did your company hire 4CDesignWorks?

Our website was becoming out-dated so we had it re-designed. The first version was in 2015, which was a HTML site. The second (WordPress) version was initiated in June 2019 and finished Feb 2020. (I had the dates wrong on the form)

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I had met a salesman from 4CTechnologies and we had a great rapport - there was no high pressure, which I had from a different local company.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The creative designer met with us to discuss our capabilities and what we were looking for - which was a blend of technical showcase with an artistic flair. We met with Josh several times to hammer out a few details. Josh designed a site which we were very impressed.

We worked extensively with Josh Schmitt - their Graphic & Creative Designer.

We were quite pleased with the website design and subsequent support.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was the primary contact with Josh - and quite pleased with the workflow. My background was with HTML, and Josh was quite patient in supporting me with the WP software.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I have seen their prior work. They were able to handle the complexities of designing for manufacturing and other technical service companies.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Can't think of any. There were a couple of support issues when they were in transition from moving office space, but that was to be expected.

4CDesignWorks built our brand to honor and commemorate Alexis with the intent to keep information about the foundation, scholarships, donation information, and events on a website.
We provided various digital photos, key biblical verses, and some information about the foundation.  From that, they created the brand, complete with a bright color palette and unique logo.
They also created the sponsorship application form available on the website from a PDF file.
After that was approved, they secured the domain name/URL and hosting where they built the website. They have maintained the website since then.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The website continues to provide access to the sponsorship application and notify users of when the annual Invitational Gymnastics Meet takes place.
It also serves to tell Alex's story and educate those looking for faith-based scholarships in the local area.

Everything moved pretty quickly as the logo and letterhead needs were completed in less than a month after initial discussions. The website took a little more time to complete, but it was published in the beginning of May 2012.

4C and specifically the team member, Josh, who was assigned to this project has been extremely dependable over the past 13+ years. He routinely contacts me, the foundation president, for verification of the annual gymnastics fundraiser that supports our foundation.  I typically fail to remember to notify him with the annual updates.  However, Josh has been faithful in maintaining the communication lines to keep us updated or makes changes when needed which has been extremely helpful.  We have been so grateful that 4C has provided and maintained the website domain so that we can continue to carry on our daughter Alex's legacy of faith through the scholarship program which is advertised on our website created by 4C.

We're impressed with their attention to detail and creativity in the layout of the information and photos provided. We were most impressed with the beautiful logo.

We have been working with 4CDesignWorks since 2006, primarily for the creation and maintenance of our websites, which is more of a "three in one" structure, since we operate three businesses serving the Western Pennsylvania funeral industry. Not only does 4C maintain our website, but we have also found them to be helpful on other areas of marketing, including digital strategies and SEO.
They also help with our print advertising and client proposals. Because we are a small business, these functions must be outsourced, and over the years, we have found 4C to be a great fit.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This is most evident in our pet crematory operation, known as "Oakcrest." This company was launched in 2005. Because of 4CDesignWork's expertise in web development, keywords, digital advertising, and SEO, we have done very little in terms of investment to promote our services. Yet this company has experienced rapid growth year over year, and our competitive differentiators have been clearly communicated The return on investment is extraordinary.

As a third generation small business, I believe in the benefits of hiring local. Most of 4C's services were done in person. They are always available when we call, quickly responding to our needs. I like the fact that they take the time to explain things to me. There has never been any reason to go anywhere else, and we fully appreciate their service.

Creatively, I think they are one of the best in the city. I'm always impressed with their ability to extend our brand and think outside the box. Sometimes, they give us too many graphic design options and it is difficult to make a final selection. They are conscientious and they have really made an effort to research and understand our industry and our local competition. No question, for us, 4C is a great partner.
