The scope was substantial. At a high level, 7EDGE had to design and build:

● Separate web interfaces for different user types — patients, providers, administrators, and others — each with their own access levels and workflows.

● Mobile app interfaces tailored for two distinct user roles.

● Automated email and SMS communication flows for account management, alerts, and patient notifications.

● API integrations capable of receiving live health data from multiple remote monitoring device vendors simultaneously.

● A centralized database to store and manage all of the above.

● End-to-end HIPAA-compliant security protocols — non-negotiable in healthcare.

When it all came together, what 7EDGE delivered was a full Enterprise SaaS platform — built on a serverless, modular-monolithic architecture using AWS SaaS Fundamentals. It’s a complex product, and the fact that they pulled it off within a reasonable timeframe says a lot about their execution. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We ran the project in structured sprints, and each one had to be tested and approved by our team before development moved forward, so there was real accountability built into the process from the start. Once all the pieces were in place, we ran a full system test over a 60-day period to stress-test the platform end-to-end before going live. That window gave us genuine confidence that what we were releasing was production-ready, not just demo-ready.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Honestly, the project management was one of the more impressive parts of the engagement. They followed Agile methodology, which worked well for a project of this complexity. We had a dedicated project manager assigned exclusively to us, not shared across accounts and we met virtually almost every day. That sounds like a lot, but it never felt excessive. It kept decisions tight and caught issues early. Developer meetings were scheduled on an as-needed basis for design reviews or when we needed to dig into something technical. Overall, they were responsive and kept things moving throughout.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their genuine dedication to getting it right. This wasn’t a transactional engagement where they built what was in the spec and called it done. They actually cared about understanding what we were trying to accomplish and why, which made a real difference when we hit grey areas or had to make product decisions on the fly. That kind of attitude is hard to find and it’s what I’d point to if someone asked me why I’d work with them again.

Are there any areas for improvement or something 7EDGE could have done differently?

There was a learning curve on both sides early on, and I will be honest about our part in it, we could have come in with tighter, more detailed requirements from the start. On their end, they had to get up to speed on the nuances of the healthcare industry, which has a lot of regulatory and workflow complexity that isn’t obvious from the outside. Once we got aligned on those things, the project ran smoothly all the way through to delivery. In hindsight it’s a pretty natural dynamic for a first-of-its-kind engagement, but going in more prepared would have saved a few weeks upfront.

I’m the engineering director at a display manufacturing company. Our company is part of a larger organization that manufactures televisions, signage, hotel TVs, and similar products. Our displays are smart displays, meaning they’re connected to the internet. As a result, we also have cloud-based applications that allow users to control these devices remotely.

We needed help to develop our remote device management application.

What was the scope of their involvement?

7EDGE is supporting us in developing our remote device management application. This web application needs to be cloud-based and allow users to control their displays remotely.

For instance, if a user buys 100 displays from us, they don’t want to control each display individually. Instead, they want to do it remotely from their office. Using our application, they can put content on each display or power off all of them at a specific time.

So far, we have followed an agile development methodology. We started with the discovery phase. Then, we provided 7EDGE with the requirement documentation and the UI assets, which included how the screens should look and what they should do.

7EDGE has design support, but we haven’t utilized it because we already have our own design services. However, we’re considering using their design services in a future engagement.

For the development, 7EDGE is using standard development tools, such as TypeScript, GraphQL, and Next.js. We have our own AWS account, so we’re using AWS services and deploying the application ourselves.

7EDGE has eight people working with us, including frontend developers, a business analyst, DevOps personnel, and a QA specialist.

How did you come to work with 7EDGE?

We did a Google search and looked for companies that worked in this space. We reached out to several companies and evaluated them before making a choice.

We started working together in August 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

7EDGE has delivered according to their commitments at the beginning of each sprint. They have implemented the web application on their side.

So far, they’ve met our overall plan. We haven’t assessed the quality metrics yet because we’re still in the deliverables’ development phase. However, the cost metrics look good so far.

How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?

7EDGE has been able to meet the deadlines and stay within the budget. In fact, they meet the deadlines 80–90% of the time. If they can’t meet a deadline, they flag us early on the dependencies and other issues.

We use Jira for project management. For communication, we have weekly reviews over Zoom. The communication is good. We also have Slack channels for developer-to-developer interactions and phone calls as needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their adherence to processes is impressive. 7EDGE’s process framework is very strong, which enables them to meet their commitments. They’re also investing in this area, which is one of the reasons we chose them at first.

Are there any areas they could improve?

7EDGE is a young team, so they need to continue retaining talent to gain more maturity in their domain areas. Apart from that, I have no problems. They're quite a good team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Allow 7EDGE to work in their process-based definition because they have very strong processes. Don’t bring in your own definitions and processes. Additionally, have a team on your side with the needed expertise to oversee the domain competencies or knowledge on the client side. This can be used to guide 7EDGE’s team with respect to things they may miss out on due to their lack of experience.

I'm the CEO of an electronic payments (e-payments) service provider startup in Malawi.

What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?

We needed support developing a platform to process e-payments.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we provided 7EDGE with a list of requirements and detailed specifications. We spent many hours discussing on the phone and in conferences with the team, confirming our understanding and initial customer journeys, which they built around our requirements. Even before we formally committed to 7EDGE, we worked many hours together to define our platform's requirements regarding customer journeys. 

7EDGE is developing our platform using a combination of HMTL, CSS, Java, Node.js, and React. The team uses AWS systems and services for hosting, including AWS Lambda, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), AWS S3 for storage, Amazon Cognito for identity management, Amazon CloudFront for edge computing, and Amazon CloudWatch for system monitoring.

What is the team composition?

I work with around 10–12 teammates from 7EDGE. I have weekly conferences with a team of 6–8 team members, and I occasionally interact with 3–4 teammates who aren't on the operational team. 

How did you come to work with 7EDGE?

We were referred to 7EDGE by AWS. We had two discussions with a development services provider for e-payment platform development that came to nothing. We asked AWS for recommendations since we were planning to host our infrastructure with them. AWS recommended various companies, and 7EDGE came across as knowledgeable, proactive, and helpful. 7EDGE also had a methodology that we felt would get the best results in terms of high speed and cost efficiency.
How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $50,000–$100,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with 7EDGE since December 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

7EDGE's first deliverable will be completed in July 2024. We're building a brand new platform for our startup, and we wouldn't be in this position without 7EDGE's work. We've had unsuccessful projects before, and 7EDGE has offered me the best approach and results for any development project I've worked on in the many years I've worked in this industry.

How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?

The team has worked very quickly and in an engaging way. The challenge with development projects is the balance of time, cost, and quality, and the general understanding is that we can control two out of those three aspects. For this project, I need to control quality and cost and allow time to flex. Going deeper into the project, there have been decision points that force us to consider which of those three variables we select.

We've had to flex time at some point, and at other times, we've had to flex costs. However, 7EDGE has kept work quality high, and I'm happy with that. I can't hope for better project management; the important thing for me now is that we meet time and quality. 7EDGE has been totally committed, transparent, and enormously helpful to hit our launch date in July 2024.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Ghanavi (Product Management Analyst) is the teammate I speak with most. We communicate with her via conferences and emails several times a week, and she has been fundamental to our continued success. She's enormously engaged and always looking for solutions that will work for our objectives.

What did you find most impressive about them?

7EDGE took a thorough approach to ensure understanding and clarity on both sides at the beginning of our engagement. The team's approach has also helped us flesh out some key decision points within the solution, which usually emerge later in the process, allowing us to make important choices and define work in clear terms. We've experienced fewer surprises as the project evolves. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish 7EDGE's costs would be cheaper, but aside from that, I can't think of any areas for improvement.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

7EDGE is very knowledgeable and capable in the domain of system development. In order to leverage the team's experience fully, the clients approaching them have to be knowledgeable about their requirements, considering the rationale of their requirements and the tolerances around how those requirements need to be delivered. 7EDGE needs this information and will ask you for it from you. 

The team will continuously push you to define your requirements to a level that allows them to be precise in their development, and I've enjoyed this enormously. I've engaged in this process, but I fear that if a client isn't clear about their requirements, there will be frustration on both sides. 7EDGE will ask you questions, and if you can't answer them definitively, the team won't be able to do their work, which could lead to delays and potentially incorrect solutions. 

The team builds software from scratch, and it has been a pleasure for me because we have a detailed understanding of our requirements, and even when we don't, we can find the answers to their questions. You need to know exactly how to deploy the team's power and the resources' expertise required in developing a system.

7EDGE's management style and proper operating procedures for tracking and planning work are excellent. The team is responsive, and I like their attitude. Our company was using a low-code platform to manage orders. However, as our company grew, we found the platform to be limiting. It was critical for us to maintain and upgrade it as more users were added to our system. Additional functionalities were required, and we needed to automate and streamline workflows while eliminating manual processes that slowed things down. 

We also needed to integrate with third-party platforms and include more validation and error checks throughout the life of an order. Given that, we decided that a custom app solution would be the best option for us, and that was when we hired 7EDGE.

We asked 7EDGE to develop a custom web app based on the existing platform’s framework. The team initially studied the existing platform and created a set of user stories with sketches outlining the functionality required by the app. 

At present, we’re adding more features to the web app and optimizing workflows. The 7EDGE team is creating new UI/UX designs for the app, and they’re going to build its backend to ensure it works as intended for users.

We’ve met with a number of teammates from 7EDGE, including their founder and sales team. They’ve brought on teammates from the technical side to understand our requirements and come up with the project proposal and cost estimate.

Our team looked into various development options, including in-house solutions, domestic outsourcing, and offshore outsourcing. Being a small company, our resources were limited, so an offshore solution was the most viable option from a budget perspective. We researched a lot of companies in Europe and Asia and ended up focusing on several companies in India. 

Once we narrowed things down, we met with the companies multiple times and contacted references to get feedback from their existing customers. 7EDGE stood out based on our conversations with them as well as their references’ feedback. During our interactions with the 7EDGE team, we felt confident that they could build the product we needed. On top of that, everyone we met within the company was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

7EDGE has been thorough in terms of finding out everything we need. They ensure they understand everything first before proceeding with any task. Moreover, they’re detail-oriented. Their designs look good and address everything that we need, so it’s now only a matter of seeing the designs come to life during the development process. So far, we’re on track to meet the expected completion date.

The 7EDGE team excels at project management. Everything’s quicker to find — we know where we are in the process and what to expect. Communication is crucial for a project like ours, especially since we’re dealing with the challenges of remote interactions. 7EDGE does a great job of ensuring we’re kept informed and updated on everything. 

Moreover, their resources are flexible and accommodating when we want to modify things. They truly seek to understand our business requirements to ensure the app works as intended. What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?

We needed someone to build a few legacy applications for us. We had some ideas that were mostly in the form of Excel spreadsheets; we wanted to convert them into mobile and web applications.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

7EDGE understood all our processes and created a detailed business requirement document for us. They created the UI/UX design for the apps using Flutter. Then, they developed mobile and web applications for us. Everything was based on JavaScript, and the mobile applications were built for Android and iOS.

The apps catered to customers who were asset intensive, telling them about their asset health, bill of materials, and overall material master hierarchy. Also, the apps allowed users to create a hierarchy of assets and new material codes. Basically, they were end-to-end asset management applications.

We worked closely with their principal consultant/co-founder.

We had a vendor management team, and 7EDGE was already registered as a service provider. We evaluated about 6–7 vendors, but 7EDGE understood the business part of the application quickly compared to other contenders.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2019. The engagement went on for over a year because they created three applications in total; it ended in December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We defined the acceptance criteria for their development work, and it was reasonably good.  Our success criteria were compliance with coding standards and on-time development, and 7EDGE excelled. Also, the QA activities were a joint exercise between 7EDGE and us, and they did pretty well.

Overall, our main goal was to get as many business users to use the application as possible. We saw good adoption rates thanks to 7EDGE’s quality work.

How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?

We started using emails for communication, but then we set up daily Scrum meetings because we were working in agile mode. We had weekly reviews, and 7EDGE was always reachable by phone.

We also collaborated via Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Many companies in India can code well-developed software, custom applications, and mobile applications; it’s common to find talented developers there. However, 7EDGE’s team understood our process and overall functional specifications. The project wasn’t simple; it required industry experience, and that’s where 7EDGE stood out.

No, they were great at what they did. We were perfectly happy with the results and their service.

Work with them, especially if you’re not sure they’ll understand your business. Trust their ability; it’s the first step to getting them to understand your requirements.

I’m the founder and CEO of a small startup company. We offer a unique app-based fitness program where people have to record themselves doing workouts, and their friends and peers can validate them in real-time to ensure that they’re, in fact, doing the workouts they said they would do.

What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?

We needed a development partner to help us develop our app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

7EDGE helped us develop the app we needed for our fitness program from scratch. One of our founders was proficient in Photoshop, so we initially provided them with rough sketches and ideas we had designed internally. Then, they re-engineered what we had put together to make it more harmonious.

This app was developed exclusively for iOS. Among its core features are a social feed similar to Instagram or TikTok and a simple user journey to create workouts. Additionally, 7EDGE integrated creative elements, such as notification icons and pop-ups.

What is the team composition?

Ashu (Founder) was very involved in the beginning, but he remained available throughout the entire process. Additionally, we worked with different departments within 7EDGE, including design, frontend development, and backend development, so we touched base with around 20–30 people from their organization.

How did you come to work with 7EDGE?

They were recommended by a friend of a friend who had worked for them. This person said that they were fun and quality people to work with and that their work was very good. Thus, we decided to interview them, and they provided a very strong proposal and a competitive price and gave us a good understanding of what they could do for us.

After weighing options between them and three other companies, we decided to work with 7EDGE for a few reasons. One of the reasons was their strong presentation, another was their price, and the third one was the people in their organization. They seemed upbeat, friendly, and excited to work with us.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2022, and we launched the app in September 2022. However, 7EDGE has been kind enough to keep working with us to work through issues and solve bugs we found after completing it.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

7EDGE delivered what they promised and how they promised. Now, we have an app with user-friendly navigation and streamlined processes. As general feedback, they were competitive, hardworking, and willing to do what it took to deliver the product that they promised.

How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?

7EDGE was very good and easy to work with. Additionally, they were very upfront about the timelines, estimating 6–8 months and landing right around that timeframe. The project was about 98% on target, and the few overages we had were a miss on both parties, so they were not to blame. We used Miro for the designs, Slack for communication, and TestFlight to beta-test the app.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of 7EDGE’s strongest attributes was one of their designers; this person took our initial designs and brought them to the next level, which was impressive. Moreover, they showed outstanding capabilities of understanding what we wanted and delivering a better experience than expected, implementing things we didn’t think about.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The testing phase was the only aspect of 7EDGE’s work that needed improvement. They were very good at staying on track and keeping the development project going, but they could have done a better job during testing. Still, their work was very good overall.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Firstly, I would recommend working with 7EDGE; they did a great job for us. Secondly, be clear in what you want because if you don’t, it will be hard to scope the project out.

I’m the CEO of Inmoments Limited, a services marketplace.

What challenge were you trying to address with 7EDGE?

They worked as our outsourced development partner.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

To start, we sat down and developed the scope of the project based on our requirements. We then moved on to working through design sprints and building our UI/UX. They’re supposed to deliver the apps by the end of this month or early next month depending on how quickly we can get clearance for payment processing from the central bank. We provided them with documentation, and they provided a product design for us.

What is the team composition?

We’re working with their chief consultant, as well as a service architecture resource, and a UX designer. Sandhya (Node.js Developer) is handling the mobile development.

How did you come to work with 7EDGE?

We’re based in Uganda, and it’s a small talent market here. First, we tried to recruit locally to build our platform, but it was quite difficult. 7EDGE had the experience in building scalable systems that we needed.

They gave us a great breakdown at the outset. We had introductory meetings with two companies, and 7EDGE was willing to work with us to refine our scope. They were knowledgeable and had experienced team members.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost is around $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since December 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The most important result for us was staying within the timeframe. The sprints were designed in such a way that after we completed the UI system we could review it and test it. So far, the system is stable, with no glitches, and does everything we need it to do.

How did 7EDGE perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very professional and sometimes deliver way ahead of time. They’ve assigned a specific project manager, and she’s been proactive in communicating with us. They’re outstanding.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to share industry knowledge stands out. I’m not technical, and they’re always willing to explain their ideas and suggestion to me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything significant to mention. I haven’t encountered an instance where I’ve wished something was different.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have everything ready when you sign up with them. I didn’t anticipate that we would move as quickly as we did and we had to play catch up, which puts both sides at a disadvantage.
