Brett’s team prepared key video components for Chefs’ Playground, a high profile food-art-theater gala in Chicago. Now in its 6th year, the event reaches 50MM viewers and has featured more than 70 culinary leaders, including Rick Bayless, Jeff Mauro, Lee Wolen, and numerous Top Chef contestants.

The high profile event supports the Academy for Global Citizenship, a public charter elementary school globally recognized for sustainability, whole-child wellness, and civic engagement. Bottle Rocket Media helped to create a compelling promotional video and communication strategy, nimbly synthesizing seemingly disparate directives from the creative team, school leaders, event planners, and data experts. In addition to the event’s promotional video explaining our vision and mission, his team also created an AR activated video on the printed and digital event invitation.

For this project, we needed to produce video testimonials from real clients and users of Centro and our software, Basis. We'll use these videos in sales and marketing materials like account pitches, on our website, in social media, etc.

Bottle Rocket met with us early on to discuss the goals, strategy, and content of the testimonials. Brett and team provided their expert opinions and we were off to the races. They quickly adjusted to a major location change (from Chicago to New York) and handled our last minute adjustments with complete deftness and professionalism. On site, they were equally as amazing. Efficient, friendly, and clearly experts in production. Brett and his crew made our interview subjects feel comfortable and pulled out some great content.

The project management has been very collaborative. As a bit of a control freak, I like to be involved in everything, and the team was very willing to let me drive where I could and gently take the reins back when I was out of my depth. The flexibility of the team cannot be understated. I like to plan, but as with everything nowadays, you have to be ready to adjust and pivot quickly. The Bottle Rocket team moved with us easily and their flexibility gave us what we needed.

It's too early to share business outcomes, but our past videos have been well received and give credibility and polish to our presentations and website.

We wanted to create a single promotional video capturing all of our concert-type events to use in support of sales.

Bottle Rocket Media has gotten to know us over the last year. Before the project began, we met with them to fully debrief the team on what we were looking for. From there, they presented a timeline for the project.

Bottle Rocket Media provided us an initial cut of the video. We provided detailed feedback, both verbally and written. They implemented the edits and presented the final video. If further edits or iterations are ever needed, we will continue this process.

We do not share our footage publicly due to privacy requests from our clients. That being said, we have always received very positive feedback from our clients on the footage. They love having the footage to share.

Bottle Rocket does a great job of communicating with us. They have always stuck to timelines unless we make changes to the project scope, which they've always quickly adapted to.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their entire team is fantastic. They really took their time getting to know us, our company, and our goals. They spend as much time thinking about the emotions we want to evoke through the footage as they do talking through the tactical aspects of the video.

We needed a graphics video package for our biggest annual AMA National conference, the Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education. The package would be used for promotions leading up to the conference, as well as in-conference guidance and branding.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a consistent AMA branded experience throughout the conference. It should be clear to attendees where to ask for help and where to find out more information about the conference or about AMA. We also wanted to promote awareness leading up to the conference.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We created an RFP and sent it to several agencies. The final decision was based on quality of work, timing (fast turnaround), and budget. Most important was quality within the budget.

We created scripts and storyboards together with Bottle Rocket Media. They created a mockup and we went through a few iterations regarding animation timing and design layout. After we approved a final mockup, we sent them content assets (speakers’ names, photos, quotes) for render.

Bottle Rocket Media was flexible in following our production schedule. Unfortunately, the confirmations of speakers were unpredictable. They were able to accommodate a stop-and-go flow of assets and still deliver renders quickly once receiving them.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our stakeholders raved about the overall improvement in event experience, of which the video graphics were a part. We had a large lounge area where we played the videos that highlighted upcoming speakers. The lounge was a hit, and we have included a lounge at subsequent events. Our event attendance and Net Promoter Score, which we use to measure event experience value, were higher than the previous year.

Bottle Rocket Media was accommodating and flexible. We wouldn't have been able to create the graphics without their flexibility and speed. They were able to take in the big-picture vision, including existing creative designs, and bring our creative vision to life through animation and motion.

Bottle Rocket Media was a perfect partner for high-value and impactful results that fit our budget. They’re a collaborative group that felt like an extension of our creative team. They were able to quickly jump in, understand the vision, and flex with our process and changes to deliver impressive results.

We hired Bottlerocket to help us produce a :30 TV commercial in a short timeframe. This was an unusual setup, as we did our own casting  and hired our own set designer/propmaster due to limited budget as we are a non-profit. 

They provided pre-production scouting of locations as well as some general storyboards, shot lists and pre-production planning. They provided the crew and equipment and handled Direction duties for our 2-day filming. They handed off the footage and we did our own editing, however they did provide some consultation after seeing the rough cut.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We managed to film 5 different scenes in 3 locations over 2 days with multiple actors. The footage we got was lovely and will be useful to us not only for TV, but as cutdowns in other mediums.

This was a fast-turnaround schedule. They were eager to please us and help figure out how to maximize our time and our budget. This resulted in our taking on the duties of casting, hiring our own set designer/prop master as well as craft services.  We appreciated their flexibility with this.

They have an extremely tight crew who all seem to really love working together. They have great attitudes on set and are really calm and collected. They believed in our message and worked hard to make it the best it could be.

Recognizing we were asking them to work a bit differently (letting us handle casting, props, craft services) there were a few instances where emails and meeting invites didn't make it to all the proper client players, but we figured it out in the end.
