I’m working in the capacity of a CEO for a media company that focuses on marketing and promotion through social media platforms. We collaborate with brands for their campaigns and help them reach out to their target customers by creating written content.

Our primary goal was to have a presence on relevant social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It was also important to increase our writer base for microfiction and flash fiction. More writers would lead to more heterogeneity in terms of writing style and thoughts. Lastly, we wanted to grow our social media followers.

We are now in our third month of consultancy with Graffersid. Initially, they advised us to build the brand first before developing the website and mobile app. The idea was to reach out to a substantial number of followers on different social media platforms. This would eventually help us bring in revenue. They are also helping us with initial collaborations. From time to time, Graffersid suggests ways to get more writers on board.

There are three people involved in this project, including the CMO and a product manager. Our company also has a team of freelance writers. We’ve met Graffersid’s team in person several times.

We’ve built a substantial follower base on Instagram, followed by Facebook and Twitter. So far, we are completely satisfied with the consultancy they’ve given us.

They are young, energetic, and practical—I love their blunt approach.

We are a bakery that provides everything from the most basic cream cakes to designer ones. Sizes vary from individual-size to cakes for hundreds of people. Weddings and other large events are very common in India.

What challenge were you trying to address with Graffersid?

There is a lot of competition in our area, and we didn’t have an online presence. We were looking for some breakthrough marketing ideas for tapping into our potential client base.

I had worked with another marketing agency before Graffersid, but I wasn’t happy with them. There are a lot of companies that provide the same services as us, and the team we were using wasn’t providing any unique ideas. We were competing with giants that had immense presences in our area and across India.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When I approached Graffersid, they came up with some good marketing ideas with regard to improving our digital presence, including an online tool for managing our order deliveries. The software tracks the status of the order and provides information on the driver and their location when the order is on its way. Their team is also managing all our email marketing and online profiles, including Instagram.

I’m in contact with three or four people from their team, including a marketing expert and a developer. It’s easy to reach Sidharth (CEO, Graffersid) directly when I need to. He is available 24/7.

I found them on LinkedIn, and a friend recommended them very highly. We started with a smaller scope, but it’s increased since that time.

The total cost of their services has been around $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Graffersid in October 2017, and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t tracked specific metrics closely, but our online presence was practically nonexistent initially. After working with Graffersid for three or four months, 30% of our sales started coming from the online space. This is an unbelievable result for us, and I hope we can maintain the same pace.

We also provide home delivery, and cover 80% of the Pune, India area—an almost 30-kilometer radius. Previously, we were only using the phone for taking orders, but Graffersid setup a wonderful online delivery system for us.

How did Graffersid perform from a project management standpoint?

There were a few snags in the beginning while explaining how our business worked, but they eventually came around to perform brilliantly. I never had to explain things more than once. We mainly communicate through email and WhatsApp with occasional phone calls as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m overall happy with their performance. Some items took longer to explain, but they have a straightforward approach. Over the first three or four months, we’ve seen a significant increase in sales. We’re hoping this trend will continue.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. They’re good the way they are.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

If the client is looking for different ideas, Graffersid is a good choice. I was initially concerned about working with such a young team, but I’ve been very happy.

We shortlisted three companies: two from Singapore, one from India (i.e., Graffersid). Both companies were on par in terms of references, quality, and skills, but Graffersid far exceeded the other company in terms of process and suggestions about possible features.

The scope expanded from web and mobile development into market research, competitor analysis, prototyping, and other development. They gave us all the technical documentation and wireframes for future reference and marketing purposes.

What was the team composition?

There was a project manager, designer, two web developers, one Android developer, and one iOS developer. However, our first contact at the company stuck with us until the last day to ensure consistency.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The features Graffersid suggested really helped us in the launch. In two months, we had 2,500-plus app downloads without any investment in user acquisition. Our users could very easily refer other users to bring their friends and family on board.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It felt like an autopilot mode. Although their process can feel a bit longer since they do a lot of research when compared with other IT companies, it's a good experience overall. We had a much better understanding of the market in technical terms after working with them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They really took ownership of both the process and the product. They would take the initiative and come up with suggestions. They were not shy to disagree with us on certain features, but they always backed it with strong reasoning.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Some of their documentation may not be up to industry standards. Plus, they depend a fair amount on free tools.

Graffersid is a young team and will likely polish their work with time. Nonetheless, we are very satisfied with the services and recommend them strongly for early-stage entrepreneurs like us.
