Before starting the actual project, we had an initial meeting with their director, designer, SEO specialist, developer, and another person—I’m not entirely sure what his role was, but I think he might have been responsible for server maintenance or something similar. A few days later, I had a meeting with the designer, whose name I believe is Zoran. He explained his design process to me and mentioned that he would send me each completed part or group of elements once they were finished. Every time a section of the design was completed, my team and I reviewed it, and sometimes we sent it back to him for minor revisions. However, there weren’t many revisions on our end, as we generally liked the design from the start.

Once we finished the design phase, I didn’t have many meetings with their developer who was working on the project, but I kept track of the progress since they allowed us to monitor all changes on their server. I really appreciated how attentive they were to optimizing the project for as many users as possible and ensuring it worked well on all major devices and browsers. When everything was completed, we had to wait a bit longer for their SEO specialist to review and start working on his tasks. Honestly, he was the team member we understood the least when he was explaining things to us. He seems like a specialist in what he does, but since SEO and its technical principles aren’t our area of expertise, it was challenging for us to follow along. However, we hired them specifically to improve this aspect of our company. After he completed his work, our team reviewed everything and concluded that a good job had been done from both design and development perspectives, as everything appeared more modern and visually appealing. Overall, we didn’t have any specific timeline since the project was for ourselves, so the focus was entirely on quality rather than any time constraints.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We can’t measure the visual aspect except to say that we like what we received and that it appears modern from our perspective. Although we don’t have team members specializing in SEO services, we were able to check that the on-page tags, images, descriptions, titles, and the content itself were optimized. We've seen improvements, which strongly suggests that users are interacting more actively with the site.

We are very pleased with the overall management. They are polite, have a friendly tone when speaking with us, are always available, and they don’t take an overly strict or formal approach with us as clients, which I personally really appreciate. I’ve often had longer conversations with their manager, Stojan, where, after addressing all project-related questions, we would chat and joke as if we were friends. This, again, is something I genuinely enjoy as a client.

Perhaps the only thing is that in some areas, with some of their colleagues who are very specialized, we don't always fully understand the technical language. It would be helpful if they could explain things in a more straightforward, simpler way. :)

When we agreed on the collaboration, we first had a meeting with their director and a member of their sales team, followed by an introductory meeting with the project manager and designer. They started by creating a design in Figma, beginning with a wireframe where all the fields were laid out as a structure of the website, but in black and white, without images, colors, or content—just the basic structure. After that, we exchanged a few emails and had two more meetings before we finalized the ideas. Then they added images, colors, backgrounds, etc. We thoroughly reviewed everything, and after about four rounds of feedback, we approved what they had created. We had one more meeting with the manager, after which they began coding. During the meeting, we emphasized once again that we needed strictly optimized code and proper semantics according to the latest standards. It took them just over a month to complete the development, and another two weeks while we reviewed their work and gave some comments, which they then addressed. Finally, their SEO team member reviewed the site from a technical SEO perspective and confirmed that everything was correct and the site was ready to go live.

We got the website we asked for, and in a short time, our organic traffic has slightly increased. We understand that better and bigger results will come over time. As far as we understand, we received excellently coded and optimized code in the project.

They were very pleasant and friendly towards us, with no tension or stressful meetings. Very proactive and communicative, and as they say, easy to work with. Every three to four days, they would update us on the project's progress and what was happening at any given moment. We never had to wait long for a response, and in terms of response time, we received feedback quite quickly.They also showed us how the website looked at every stage in their testing environment, along with explanations. The manager himself would explain what was happening during meetings. I can say they deserve praise for the effort they put into keeping us constantly informed.

We saw many positive things throughout our collaboration with them, so it's hard to single out one aspect without overlooking another since they performed well in every area. However, I’d say what impressed us the most was their professionalism and approach toward us as the client.

I haven’t really thought much about this... not really... I wouldn’t say so. As far as I’m concerned, everything is fine. Maybe they could open a few more branches or offices outside of Novi Sad in Serbia, just for their own benefit for example in Belgrade.

The work needed to be done was essentially a design process, including the user interface and user experience. They designed all the screens in Figma for a discount-focused app, creating a full design system, UI elements, and various states like hover and active.

Once the design was approved, they moved on to front-end development using React.js and thoroughly tested the app’s interface. From the very beginning, their SEO consultant was involved in weekly meetings and sessions with the designer, and later with the developers, providing ongoing SEO recommendations. Deadlines were met on time.

At the initial meeting, we agreed on everything regarding the plans, how we will work by segment and which process will be followed. First, the designers were involved the most since it was the first phase, but also the SEO team to immediately agree on the best practice regarding the entire procedure. 

At the beginning, we wanted a website, but they suggested that it might be better to have only landing pages for each apartment, that it is better both for the search and for the personalization of the apartments itself, and that this is a good advantage compared to the website itself. 

The designers created the design for the landing pages and then their developers made it all. So far they have made us about 10-15 pages and they are still making them for us. This process suits us perfectly and has proven to be very effective

In general, we have more visits to the site and more paid services that we offer

Only the first landing page was a little late, but that was more due to our revisions, but as soon as we agreed on the direction we want to go, everything was finished on time, even ahead of time. Very good communication and treatment, we definitely felt like we were their only client

The first phase we started with was the design phase, where we initially had wireframes, then added colors, images, graphics, and fonts until we achieved a complete final design proposal. I must admit, we were immediately impressed as there was no need for any major revisions.

Once we adopted the entire design, we moved on to the development phase, starting with the frontend and then the backend. In the frontend phase, they also added some subtle animations. In the backend phase, after implementing the desired functionalities, we all tested together to see if everything was in order and working as it should.

We went through this phase several times, there were a few corrections regarding ACF fields in certain places, but overall everything went smoothly.

Internal communication has been improved through this platform, making management aspects and project fluctuations easier to handle. Coordination has become better, resulting in the optimization of internal resources. The user experience has significantly improved.

We were thrilled with the guys from the management team, their communication is excellent, relaxed but professional. What impressed us the most was their professionalism, which is balanced with a pleasant and very friendly atmosphere. This was crucial for the project to proceed without incidents, escalations, or unnecessary tension, which is very important for us when working with someone. Of course, we were also impressed by the people we worked with and the quality delivered by the company at the end of the project.

As I have mentioned several times before, first, we got exactly what we wanted in terms of service at the end, we received it on time even though the project officially isn't quite finished yet. Very kind and professional people with a lot of experience and knowledge in their fields. Everything went very smoothly without any unnecessary unpleasant situations.

As far as we are personally concerned, we wouldn't change anything. I don't know about their other clients, but every aspect we worked on with them was exceptionally well-organized and executed, so we wouldn't change a thing.

Design and build new website, including software integration of a listings management database. Key deliverables were focused around building an easy to use, scaleable backend system that would allow the site to grow without requiring expensive development to add features.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The site is easy to use and scale. We are too new into the launch to determine metric results other than we have been able to significantly compress our file sizes without losing quality, an important feature to us since we display thousands of high resolution images on the site through an API feed.

The original project manager was communicative, but too slow. She did a poor job of matching the resources internally with the agreed upon deliverables and dates. She left the team (a good move for us and PopArt, as her values didn't line up with what we were seeing from leadership and the designer). 

They brought on a new project manager who was a skilled front end developer, had excellent communication skills, and was able to do a better job assessing the skillset of the backend developer we needed. The project accelerated at that point, with clear communication and support. They were always well organized, honest, ready to help and support meeting our agreed upon goals- there was no tension or debate about what was in scope or out of scope. 

They've done an amazing job of staying on agreed-upon timelines and making sure "we've got what we've been promised." They also made it easy to understand who was in charge- which was our account manager. No matter who did the work internally on their end, we didn't have to worry about finger pointing or excuses. That was impressive and much appreciated.

Their update attitude, desire to deliver on their promise, and very detailed and timely communication. It truly felt like a partnership and they listened when you had a question, concern, idea or feedback. It wasn't ever "lip service" and I never felt it was us against them. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something PopArt Studio could have done differently?

I think they had too low of a level of project manager on our project in the beginning. Maybe they underestimated the site requirements, or maybe the project manager was the wrong fit. I think we should have alerted them early on that she was struggling to manage the project to meet the deliverables. 

I think PopArt could have recognized internally and done more to address the problem sooner. Maybe they did, as the PM left half way through, but if that was the case, I think it would have been helpful for their leadership to communicate that to us. When we eventually did express that we needed more support, we were given it almost immediately, which was very refreshing.
