I'm an e-commerce product manager in the direct-to-consumer department at SodaStream, a beverage company with a lot of platforms globally.

What challenge were you trying to address with Richkid?

We needed someone to design and develop a website for one of our premium machines.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We've worked with Richkid in two different ways. One is an ongoing relationship with them to help us with our UI/UX design needs. Every time we need UI/UX designs for new features or improvements in our website, we call Richkid. For every project, they help us identify our requirements and ultimately deliver the designs needed.

The second way we've worked with Richkid is on an important project. For this project, we wanted to design and develop a new website for premium SodaStream machines that would be launched in multiple markets, including France, the US, and the Nordic markets.

Richkid has helped us go through the entire UI/UX design process of this big project. Initially, I provided them with a brief so that they could understand our business and goals. They understood our requirements, what we wanted to get from the website, and how we wanted to present the machines so that the outcome filled our business needs.

Additionally, we did some user research to discover what users were looking for in a new machine, so I also provided Richkid with a brief detailing the new machine we wanted to sell on our website. We also gave them a general idea of the website design, as well as details about our competitors.

The team not only understood our requirements but also mapped them to get a full assessment of what we wanted. Since then, they've created this website's design using the latest design practices and technology stack. This technology stack includes Figma, Zeplin, and Adobe XD.

In addition to the design work, Richkid has offered frontend development services. Given that they've used the latest technology in the market, our developers are not very familiar with it. Therefore, Richkid has given us the option to either develop the frontend themselves or provide consulting services to help our developers build the site.

What is the team composition?

For the website project specifically, I've worked with three teammates from Richkid, including Elad (Owner) and two lead designers. Still, we work with them for other design needs on an ongoing basis, so I've also worked with 2–3 other teammates.

How did you come to work with Richkid?

My manager knew them from a previous company, so he recommended them to our company, and we ultimately hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

On the website project, we spent around $50,000–$100,000. However, given that we have a retainer contract with them, we've spent much more, but I don't know the yearly fee.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2021, and it's an ongoing relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Richkid has delivered a website with an amazing and beautiful design, as well as with the newest capabilities and technology. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of metrics to share. The metrics, such as traffic and sales, are related to a lot of other things than web design.

Nonetheless, Richkid's work has had a positive effect on the way we work. Thanks to them, we've been able to work very fast and get quick and good results. Their team makes the changes we need very promptly, which helps us release features more quickly, ultimately allowing us to set up an agile environment.

How did Richkid perform from a project management standpoint?

Richkid has delivered on time and on budget. One of the best things about working with them is that they understand the full scope of the project, so they provide quotes in advance and always respect the estimated timeline and budget. We set up specific timelines for each component of our projects, and Richkid has met every one of them. Moreover, whenever there's a delay, they raise those issues ahead of time so that we aren't taken by surprise.

One time, in the middle of the project, we decided to improve the technology that we were using, which caused a change in the budget. When Richkid discovered that they needed to charge more, they raised the issue in a good way, and again, the increase was due to our change in requirements. We approved the new budget without complaints.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to give a shout-out to Elad. He has been very responsive and has taken our projects very seriously. For the main web design project, we had an extremely tight deadline. Still, Elad worked countless hours for us to ensure that we were happy. Every time I wasn't happy with something or wanted to change something, he did everything he could to make his team work and make the changes in a timely manner.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Richkid is very creative.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything Richkid could improve on.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Provide them with the full scope and allow them to understand your business needs and requirements. They can come up with things that you may not think about when thinking about your project. If they understand the business requirements, they can create great things.

Now and then we implement major changes on the website where RichKid plays a crucial part in understanding our needs and developing the new pages.
