I'm the CEO and owner of Dine-go. We provide restaurants with a system that enables their customers to order food and drinks on a QR code. We’re located in Arbon, Switzerland.

We needed help with web application development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Singularity has designed and developed the web application we provide to restaurants from scratch using AWS. They also offer monthly maintenance.

We’re in direct contact with two people, but we have about 5–10 developers on the team.

How did you come to work with Singularity?

A friend recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about €50,000 (approximately $50,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the engagement in May 2021. The contract ended, but we can create a ticket on Trello whenever we need an update, so we’re still in touch.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still in the testing period. We’re working with two restaurants, generating about €1,000 (approximately $1,000 USD) per month. So far, the product is working as expected.

How did Singularity perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve delivered on time and stayed within budget. Also, they’re responsive. We use Trello for project management and Slack for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re affordable, and we can reach them at any time. They’re available 24/7.

No, there’s none.

Give them information and details on how you want the project’s output.

What challenge were you trying to address with Singularity?

I hired Singularity to improve our website and build a more efficient database with a web interface. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the beginning of the project, I gave Singularity the existing website. They planned out a facelift for the site and an improvement on the backend. They also scoped out iOS and Android mobile application development for the interface. 

Although the project is finished, we’ve kept Singularity on retainer so they can maintain the products they delivered and continue developing products that meet our needs.

I’ve mostly had contact with Singularity’s project manager, but other teammates were involved in the project. 

How did you come to work with Singularity?

My brother referred me to Singularity; he’d worked with them previously. I’d also worked with them before at a different company. 

How much have you invested with them?

At this stage, we’ve invested around £30,000 (approximately $36,000 USD) with Singularity.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing relationship started in October 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I don’t measure Singularity’s success through user metrics or sign-ups because it’s my job to market the product to ensure those metrics increase. Instead, I’ve measured their success by how well the site works and whether or not there are bugs. I’m satisfied with their work so far. 

How did Singularity perform from a project management standpoint?

Singularity’s team is as good as any developer I’ve worked with when it comes to meeting deadlines and staying on budget. Some developers have issues following timelines, but Singularity is better than any other developer I’ve used before. 

We used to have daily calls with Singularity, but they’ve become more infrequent. Other than that, we have exchanged Slack and WhatsApp messages. To manage the project, we’ve used Trello. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Singularity is easy to deal with. They understand that we’re not technical experts, so they don’t make anything too technical for us to understand. They just deliver what we need — they’re flexible and keep things simple for us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, Singularity could be more deadline-driven. It would be good if they would set time targets to push against. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You should be clear about what you want and maintain regular contact with their team. Constant contact with Singularity allows you to make sure they understand the project.

We struggled finding vendors to help us develop the educational e-learning platform, maintain it and continuously make improvements in functionality. security and marketability.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Singularity was highly recommended through our network recommendations from multiple sides, as reliable, ethical and cutting-edge IT experts.

We sought to develop an e-learning platform with features that no other "stock" platform (Learn-Dash, Body Boss, etc) could offer. In particular, we wanted to develop a high-end note-taking tool. Likewise, needed an app to accompany the product. Singularity and its lead, Vladimir, are simply the best; they are highly structured, knowledgable, organized, and lead the project through the most critical stages while meeting all deadlines.

There CTO and 2 additional folks worked on the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The development of the highly specialized platform gave us a competitive edge among our subscribers, competitors and the publishers from whom we license our content.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Most work on on-line, as it was COVID times. However, Vladimir and his team were available and readily visited our office for team meetings as necessary.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really took time and interest to understand the industry we were in. THey also took time to research the competition and suggest the best possible and importantly, implementable solutions to make us marketable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We love working with them and wish we could spend some more time in our offices working with them. However, the work took place in the COVID time and the distancing prevented this.

We needed help with our web development projects.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve been working with Singularity for about five years. They provide us with full stack development services and mainly help us develop the source code for all our web development projects. They use WordPress for web development and different types of coding languages, such as React.js, for our projects. To name a few examples, they’ve helped us build websites that have booking functions and can handle financial transactions and database management. They’ve also created mobile apps for us.

Their team also does maintenance services for all of our client projects. We do our own hosting on different servers, so they’re mainly in charge of managing each website on a monthly basis.

We’ve interacted with 4–5 developers from their team.

A client of ours recommended them to us.

We’ve probably spent $60,000 a year.

We started working with them in September 2017, and our partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They provide us with a very high level of execution on all of our web development projects. They follow best practices for development, so that every website they build is extremely stable and long-lasting and has minimal issues.

How did Singularity perform from a project management standpoint?

They always stay on budget and are very good with communication. We interact daily with them via Slack and Zoom calls, and they always respond quickly. For managing tasks, we use Asana.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve been most impressed with the quality of their deliverables — everything we’ve developed together is extremely robust and stable.

Are there any areas they could improve on?

No, we absolutely love our relationship with them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do not be afraid of the language barrier; they’re not all very proficient with English, but we’ve found very good ways to communicate with them. I also recommend working with them because of the quality of their work.

I am the founder and owner of Blackbox Meats. We are an e-commerce direct to consumer company that sells high end cut steaks in selected local markets.

For what projects/services did your company hire Singularity, and what were your goals?

We hired Singularity to design and develop the entire project. I shared everything with them on how we could operate a transaction and their job was to build the technology and platform to accomplish this.

Our goal was to fill the on-demand economy with high-end cut steaks being delivered to peoples homes on a scheduled day or even a same day. Singularity has executed this project successfully and we still continue to work together in new emerging markets.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I found them through a referral from a friend. We did an initial introduction call where I shared my vision of the company and they then presented me with many great questions and ideas on how they/we could achieve it. Deciding factors was the leadership, honesty and their prompt timeliness to communications from the very beginning.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Project included building and development of an online ordering app for both IOS/Android, as well as a web based platform. This all included the development of purchase orders, inventory management, 3rd party delivery services, push notifications, SEO development, 3rd party analytics, marketing, zen desk customer service, operational dashboard for suppliers, quick books accounting integrating for financial reporting, credit card transaction, FB, IG & Google marketing campaigns. Reports that including coupons, promotions and data tracking for selected items or markets. This was a very big deal to put this all together and still runs fluidly today.

Several. Main contact was Vlad who is the owner of the business. Everyone was great to work with and executed very well. They still do.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The company has grossed over 2MM in revenue and is in over 7 major cities throughout the US. This company has become an excellent revenue stream for me that runs autonomously through its technological design.

As I mentioned above, this is what sold me on Singularity. Prompt and precise decision-making moved the project along very effectively. We used Zoom, Slack, Trello, and phone to communicate and manage the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Attention to detail and the ability to expand on the ideas that I originally presented. They always suggested something that made everything better and more efficient.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Moved to the USA while it was going on. Nothing I can say they could have done differently.
