I am the Founder/CEO of ProWallet, an instant, affordable and secure digital payment solution built specifically for the needs of the construction industry.

We are committed to improving the relationship between builders and their trade-partner vendors, beginning with increasing the efficiency of the payment process, allowing funds to move instantly to all participants.

We hired Somnio Software for consulting, designing and developing a mobile application for ProWallet.

As well as being our technical partners, we needed someone that could finally manage the technical challenges and the team involved. They assist us on understanding the status of the project and suggesting next steps from a technological point of view. They help us in defining the requirements, in the design of the application to achieve an excellent user experience and in developing a cross-platform mobile app using Flutter and Firebase.

Somnio was constantly making great suggestions on how to improve the project from a business and process perspective which made the project even better and brought us closer to our goals.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal for this project was to successfully define, design and develop a mobile app that improves the payment process for construction industry. We needed someone that we could rely on and get results transparently. We were striving to build a first functional version so we could start attracting investors, early adopters and get feedback early on.

They were recommended by a technological advisor to the company that already worked with Somnio. He was very satisfied with the result and impressed with their knowledge, communication skills and how much value they brought to the project by offering solutions and ideas.

Describe the project in detail.

They assisted us with consulting, designing and development. First, they helped us by understanding and defining the different requirements that the platform is needing, prioritizing them and separating them by version to have a clear roadmap and know where to focus our efforts. They communicated very clearly when discussing the requirements, were very attentive to detail and helped understand the behavior with diagrams for some complex features. The designs of the application were user-friendly and they put special focus in the user experience, which we really care about. We were frequently communicating and having meetings where we validated the progress. They built prototypes that were great for validation before moving forward to the final designs. The development and management was very organized, they made great technological suggestions and were very careful with the process which led to a successful and high-quality application.

There were 7 people that covered different roles in the project, including project managers, developers, designers, QA and the CEO. The team who worked diligently to meet our specific needs and we were very glad with their work. They really know how to work in a team and complement their skills with others for better results.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Somnio is our technical team that guides us in all the steps of the process to build a mobile application, giving us a better understanding of what is the current state, helping us define what we need and suggesting next steps. They helped us to get to a high-quality app which allowed us to scale our idea and the service we intend to provide.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were really happy with the project management. Their communication was constant and clear, and the tracking and status of the project was easy to follow. The work was efficient, they had great systems and processes in place. We took the necessary time to define what was needed, our priorities and always taking into account the tradeoffs based on what we focus on. This was helpful and let us focus on the most urgent and important things that the project was needing.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their expertise and technical knowledge, it was clear they knew what they were doing both from a technical and process stand. They were putting the project first in their priority and thinking what was best for it, always thinking of the quality and how to make a successful project.

They were constantly offering solutions to different problems that arise and suggesting improvements to the project. They communicated very clearly, were very attentive, and helped us understand the status of the project and what were the next steps.

Nothing comes to mind right now, we’re really happy with the team and their work.

We chose them because we know them from their offices in Ingenio, Latu. We have a good relationship with them and knew that we were going to achieve excellent results.

How did you select Somnio Software and what were the deciding factors?

We work in the same building and have seen them work with dedication and enthusiasm and also witnessed their growth every day.

We hired Somnio for a consultancy on the development of an application for ARK. We began identifying technical problems the app presented and other regarding the software processes in order to improve them.  

In the beginning, we carried out a consultancy in order to document the current system, survey new requirements, define an architecture, and improve the software processes.

Afterward, we entered a stage of improving all the processes, tools, and technological stack that was used. In this phase, we correctly implemented the development environments and the technological stack tools.

Ultimately, the next steps to follow were proposed in order to continue growing and scaling the product correctly.

They provided many solutions on how to continue building the system and what was the best way.

The last stage consisted of a web and back-end development sprint. We also put a special focus on correctly integrating with amazon web services.

The team consisted of a Business analyst and a Software Architect.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our site, we saw a 70% increase in traffic, and our incoming leads doubled month over month thanks to the landing page.

Clients completely loved the updated design, and they now have a better understanding of our services.

It allowed us to set the correct path in order to be able to deploy the application correctly. This helped put the application in production on time and allowed us to show customers and provide them with a system.

We set everything ready for them to shorten development times with an efficient process.

The management of the project had no major difficulty. The timelines were well defined and the tools used were very useful to manage and implement changes quickly.

The objectives were clear from the beginning and were divided into two phases: firstly,  a consultancy to analyze current problems and secondly, fixing the most important problems and leaving everything ready for future improvements if necessary.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What we appreciated the most was the clear and quick communication that was maintained throughout the whole process. We really valued that they completely understood our needs and the deadlines that we handled.

It was important for us that they could offer many solutions and explain the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

As soon as we decided upon their advice they quickly implemented the solution and we could see changes in the system really fast.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't think so. Honestly, the process was excellent both at the consulting and implementation level. They took the time to deeply understand the problem and did not rush to make a wrong decision.

It's also important to mention that the implementation and production phase was carried out very smoothly.  We highly recommend them and hope to continue working together!

I’m the co-founder of Group Home Biz. We’re an assisted living and group home consulting company that provides resources throughout the US.

What challenge were you trying to address with Somnio Software?

We worked on a mobile application that would help our clients manage their clients – the residents within their homes. One of the challenges we had was we had a backend system but we weren’t happy with the frontend.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked with them for a few years on various projects. They gave technical advice and consulting since we didn’t know how to develop the software.

They provided architectural reviews, guidance, and other know-how to solve problems. We took that to try to develop a framework. We had complicated tasks that we needed to get done which their team immediately worked on. They used Flutter, PHP, Adobe, and JavaScript.

Somnio Software created the frontend of the mobile application and integrated that on our existing backend solution.

What is the team composition?

Several people worked on the project – a senior mobile developer, a backend developer, a web developer, and a desktop developer. I was mainly in touch with the main project person.

How did you come to work with Somnio Software?

We found them on Fiverr. We first met Mauricio, the CEO & co-founder, and we started doing some independent work with him. He eventually introduced us to the rest of his company.

Since we had many projects, we spent around between $10,000–$50,000.

Our engagement ran from around August 2018–June 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The feedback on the project has been pretty straight forward. The customer satisfaction is high and the platform is easy-to-use. That, alone, is the best measurement for me.

How did Somnio Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicated through virtual meetings. Their communication skills were high.

They would set schedules and then be there on time. Sometimes, we were even laxer and we would get there late, but they were always professional. We also used other platforms to communicate such as WhatsApp, Zoom, and email. We’re satisfied with their level of communication and project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their breadth of knowledge and professionalism impressed us. They stayed on the target and they kept us updated on the tasks. It was really impressive how they managed all the engineering work.

I want to stress that their communication skills were excellent and very thorough. Their ability to conceptualize and gather requirements was also excellent – that was one of the biggest things for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing that I could think of for them to do better. They knew what they were doing and they did a good job on that. They were excellent. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Allocate the right resources on your side when working with their team because they are very aggressive. They get the job done and you will just provide them with your input.

Then they began to make the prototypes of the website and sending us versions to get our feedback throughout all this stage. They asked us in detail for everything they needed from us and then turned those ideas into an attractive, efficient and fast web application.

Thanks to Somnio, we could get to the deadline and exceed clients expectations, now the client's business keeps growing and scaling, thanks to our work together with Somnio as a unique team.

The project management was done by us, but along with Somnio we could get to the deadlines with great solutions, prioritizing business needs as well as software quality. Communication was fluent and transparent. They understood quickly our culture and workflow.

Outstanding technical knowledge as well as solving problems from the client’s perspective. Not just developing, but searching for solutions that were more than technical strategies. They were instrumental in a product launch and meeting deadlines so that we could get that product to the client.
