What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

TechAhead has delivered quality work and functionality. The team is always patient with me and goes through multiple iterations to produce the desired results. If I were to learn how to code and try to do this myself, it would take at least a decade. I know I could do it on my own, but I don’t know how to quantify time or money saved with this project.

How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?

Some back-and-forth communication has taken longer than I thought, but there’s never been a problem with getting the quality and functionality I want. TechAhead’s customer success manager understood my project immediately and started answering questions I didn’t even ask yet, anticipating problems I hadn’t thought of yet. As a result, I know I’m in good hands.

Moreover, TechAhead’s project manager is very good at liaising and speaking with developers. They also translate for me. I don’t know exactly how many people are working behind the scenes, but everything is going as expected in terms of deadlines and budget.

We use Microsoft Teams and Figma to share things, but Figma never loads on my desktop or phone. Once a week, I get lucky, and Figma loads on my computer.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TechAhead’s customer success manager understood my project immediately and started answering questions I didn’t even ask yet, anticipating problems I hadn’t thought of yet. As a result, I know I’m in good hands.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I sometimes have trouble understanding the team because they’re based in India, and the audio on my computer isn’t the best. However, we always get where we need to go.

Don’t hesitate to work with TechAhead. You can spend $100,000 somewhere else, and they might do a better job. However, you can spend a third of that and have something pretty awesome.

I provided techahead access to various hosting platforms, the Google and iOS applications, AWS, and GoDaddy. Our app serves as a virtual secretary for barbers and beauty professionals. Clients can use the app to book appointments without calling and interrupting the service. They can prepay and schedule their appointments based on the services provided by the professionals. The professionals can also set their availability and business hours.

All clients within their database can get push notifications when the stylist won’t be in for a day, a holiday, or a lunch break. This allows them to stay ahead of one another and be on the same page without any pushback or misinformation. 

Additionally, techahead has a marketing department that will help me with app store optimization.

I measure success by the app’s functionality. I’m testing it, and techahead is working on another app. They’re making another app while I’m using this one, so it doesn’t interrupt the flow.

I’m impressed with techahead’s professionalism. They explain exactly what’s going on, and there is no runaround. Each time they deliver something, I’m amazed. I’ve had no problems with any of that.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The redesigned app delivered by TechAhead brought several measurable improvements that clearly demonstrated the success of the project. One of the most significant outcomes was a noticeable increase in user engagement. After the launch, we observed that users were spending more time within the app, navigating through features more confidently, and completing tasks with fewer errors. This indicated a substantial improvement in usability and the intuitiveness of the overall design.

Additionally, we saw a marked reduction in support tickets and user complaints related to confusion or difficulty using the app—especially among drivers and single car owners, who previously faced challenges with the older interface. The new role-specific layouts and streamlined navigation helped users better understand and interact with key features such as vehicle health checks, Bluetooth-based door control, ignition immobilization, offers, e-skills, service scheduling, summary reports, live tracking, and trip replay.

The project also moved smoothly through testing phases, with minimal revisions required—highlighting how TechAhead translated our requirements into a fully functional solution. Feedback from the internal team and test users was overwhelmingly positive, particularly around the clean visuals, logical structure, and ease of control for both basic and advanced functionalities.

Overall, the measurable impact of the redesign reaffirmed that our decision to partner with TechAhead was well-placed. The project not only modernized our app visually but also significantly elevated the user experience across all key user groups.

The first iteration of the mobile app has been published. We're looking at follow-up features, things within the scope we pulled out that we know we want to get back in, any little UX polish that users or we come across, and bug fixes. Every teammate included in the initial calls was very professional and knew their roles; they knew how to run a sales pitch. We were impressed with every member we spoke with and what they presented to us. 

Out of three other companies, techahead looked the most polished and the most exciting. We were venturing into the AI space, and they also presented a clear future of where we could apply AI; they were leaders in that space.

techahead's work has met and exceeded our expectations. The team has top-notch design and research skills and a thoughtful approach. We've been very impressed with techahead's Figma work; it's very nicely thought through.

How did techahead perform from a project management standpoint?

techahead's project manager and team members have been phenomenal. The team is communicative and delivers everything on time. They were always ready to go, and at moments, were waiting for us to provide feedback. We use Slack for communication and have two weekly meetings via Microsoft Teams. techahead is very accommodating.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We're impressed with the time and effort techahead has put into the discovery process. The team has included us in the early discovery phases, which have been very collaborative. techahead has taken our feedback and made their own proposals. It has been a great process from start to finish.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We would like to have some afternoon meetings occasionally, but it hasn't affected the quality of anything delivered. We've been able to make everything work with our regular cadence of meetings, and techahead has been very accommodating with our time zone difference since they're located in India and we're in the US.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Look at your capacity and understand your commitment on your side so the project can move along without any roadblocks. techahead has never been the roadblock or the bottleneck. It has been on us and our ability to get together and review what is necessary. Starting a second project while the first one's still ongoing has made us quickly realize how little capacity we have on our side. That is one of the reasons our first project took a bit longer. In hindsight, spacing out those two projects would've been better just because we don't have the resources to manage both projects.

We had a kick-off call and signed the contract, which they adjusted per my requests.

The app is a camera app that links users with other people for shared albums they create together. When a user takes photos or videos through the camera, the other person has immediate access to those photos and videos. Users can also make a customized and shareable checklist.

How did TechAhead perform from a project management standpoint?

The project has been on budget. I've had some additional requests, and techahead has been on top of everything. We haven't had to deal with anything out of our control that needed more hours to pivot. The team has taken those costs themselves and hasn't asked me to pay more.

We had to delay the app's release slightly because I wanted to do extra things, and something that was out of our control. However, I haven't had issues because I'm not rushing. We've gone back and forth with the app, but everything has been clear, professional, and timely.

techahead updates me on the progress with weekly reports, so I don't need to chase anyone. The team has also shared a three-page slide deck report through email.

We had many video calls at the beginning of the project, where the team understood what I wanted the app to do and how I wanted the screens to look. After that, we had calls twice a week, which became weekly calls. Now, we mainly communicate through email or WhatsApp.

The whole process has felt very professional.

We've had four milestones, and after every milestone, techahead has performed a QA stage where they've tested the app. Some things didn't work, and I thought QA would have picked that up. However, the team has acknowledged it and fixed the bugs and issues. techahead should've noticed before delivering the app to me.

It's always good to come prepared. I was very well prepared with detailed visuals of what I wanted the app to do and how. That helped get an accurate quote, so I didn’t have a lot of add-ons in terms of cost. If my sketches were only 70% correct, most costs would creep in, making it more complicated as a project.

What makes our company different is that our ticketing is digital. Tournament hosts can assign users, and they’ll have a scanning device on their phones to scan the digital tickets. Users can put these tickets digitally in their wallets and share them with anybody.

When we’re in meetings, I like that it’s not just my set of eyes and ears. When I have questions in our meetings, one of the team members stops the presentation and helps me figure things out. They also correct things right there on the spot.
