We worked with Thespian on the development of custom desktop application, partially functional on mobile devices, for the Croatian Kennel Club (Hrvatski kinološki savez).

Application had to be built entirely from scratch. It is a system used to manage our association’s core operations, including membership and annual fees, issuance of pedigrees for purebred dogs with complete genealogical trees, championship certificates, and various official forms that are submitted, processed, and generated within the application.

One of the biggest challenge was migrating and integrating a legacy database dating back to 2004 into a modern system while preserving data integrity. Another was translating our very specific business logic and processes into a functional application, especially since this type of software does not exist as an off-the-shelf solution and could not be modeled after an existing product.

As of January 1st, the application has been officially launched and is now being used by our members and affiliated organizations. While the system is still in a testing and refinement phase, it is performing very well and largely meets our expectations. Any additional improvements or adjustments were anticipated, as real-world usage always reveals scenarios that cannot be fully predicted during internal testing.

One of the aspects we appreciated the most was Thespian’s communication and transparency. We received weekly progress reports, and we had an open communication channel where we could continuously provide feedback, request adjustments, and clarify requirements. Thespian’s primary task was to develop a comprehensive platform for our foundation to manage reward distributions (airdrops) to specific user groups. This solution automates the assessment of eligibility, applies defined criteria and filters, and facilitates the secure payment of rewards. By capturing qualified accounts for further processing, the platform ensures a seamless and efficient approach to our airdrop initiatives.

Thespian’s mandate was to build an online publishing platform for scientific content, as well as a complementary online marketplace for science-based NFTs on the Cardano blockchain. To this end, the team built a common Ruby on Rails backend that communicates with these 2 platforms built in React. They also wrote smart contracts for interacting with the marketplace.
