I’m the owner and principal of Catharine Steven Ventures LLC, a development firm that builds single-family homes in high-end communities.

I hired DD.NYC® to redesign my website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an initial consultation meeting where we discussed the redesign process. We wanted to include more digital media and animations on the website. They also looked into our logo and figured out what they could do. 

This branding effort was for my development company. After finishing the discovery phase, they put together three options for our review. They walked us through the materials they designed, including the logo, packaging, and brochures. We fine-tuned one of the options and developed it from there.

I mainly worked with Anjelika (Managing Partner & Creative Director) and two other teammates, including Oksana (Project Manager).

My real estate agency recommended DD.NYC®. I saw their website and some of the marketing materials they’d created. They were better than the other marketing companies in our area in relation to my direct competition, so I hired them.

We spent around $50,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This project lasted from May–September 2023, although I hired them again to work on my other company.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

DD.NYC®’s work exceeded my expectations. The builders and developers watching my project even called and asked about our contract with DD.NYC®. Overall, the team took my website, marketing, branding, and packaging up another level.

How did DD.NYC® perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was great. There were never any increases in cost even when started shifting a bit and making minor changes. They followed through completely and didn’t ask for more money. Besides that, they delivered on schedule. Anjelika communicated through phone calls, texts, emails, and Zoom meetings. They used every possible avenue to stay in touch with us. Oksana was also amazing. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Even though they were in New York and we’re in Texas, DD.NYC® was able to capture our vision from the initial interview — as if they were in the same place as us. They captured the images and feel of our community alongside my vision and the company’s branding. They put everything together and met my expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I wouldn’t change anything they’d done. They had no shortcomings.

Come to the engagement with DD.NYC® with an open mind. They’ll listen to you, your feedback, and your vision. From there, they’ll give you options that you should carefully consider.

What challenge were you trying to address with DD.NYC®?

We had been struggling with our brand image and identity for a long time and have been through a few rebrands that we did not find satisfactory. We wanted to convey ourselves as an innovative company and hired DD.NYC® to help us showcase that through our branding.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided them with a lot of different information before they started working; this included our old branding guidelines, competitor research, company information, 3D model files, and a project brief. DD.NYC® has supplied design work, coordination, vendor negotiation, and web development. The team has been responsible for creating all of our branding, including logo design and new branding guidelines.

We have added trade show design and marketing to the scope of work, and DD.NYC® has created trade show banners. Despite not being in the original scope, a large portion of the team’s work has gone towards these efforts.

We looked online and found DD.NYC® through Clutch and a few other review sites. We contacted multiple companies and reached out to their references before deciding to move forward with DD.NYC®. We decided to use DD.NYC®’s services because of their portfolio, location, and how they communicated with us throughout the selection process.

We’ve invested between $80,000–$100,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Everything they’ve created for us so far has been above and beyond anything we expected, especially given the deadlines. We never worry about what they will deliver; they have succeeded even when we don’t give them much to work with. 

We’ve had overwhelmingly positive feedback on the work that DD.NYC® has completed. During one of our largest trade shows, we had more people walking through our booth and more interactions than any other booth at the show. We attribute a lot of that success to our new branding. 

Our biggest worry was that our branding would be too different from what people were used to and that there would be an adoption lag, but we have not seen any of that. Internal morale has increased drastically, and everyone in our company has been proud to stand behind this new branding. Our employees are excited about receiving merchandise with the new branding and can’t wait to see future changes. Our distributors are also very excited about using the new branding materials. 

Our investors have been thrilled with the work from DD.NYC® and are excited to highlight the branding in a way we’ve never seen before.

They always ensure we are aligned on what they’re doing each week and our goals moving forward. DD.NYC® consistently delivers on time and is transparent and communicative in their approach. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

We’d like to shout out Anjelika. She cares so much about her craft and is extremely committed to everything she does. She is passionate, driven, collaborative, and detail-oriented. We’d also like to shout out Lana (Project Manager); she goes above and beyond to ensure everything is completed properly. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We've been impressed with the team’s turnaround period and professionalism. We cannot stress how hard DD.NYC® has worked to ensure we have everything we need. The team is open to ideas and unafraid to create designs that push boundaries.

The team is communicative and invested in the project; they take the time to explain everything to us in a digestible way. Not everyone understands the technical pieces of this process, but DD.NYC® makes sure that they explain it to us in a way that we know the full scope. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We wish that their creative communication was more fleshed out. One of the challenges we’ve run into has been when we’re not working with our primary contact and don’t get the same level of communication that we’re used to. We wish we were getting the same level of creative communication regardless of who we’re working with. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be organized and understand your deadlines and everything necessary for your specific project. Plans will change during the engagement, but you'll be more successful if you know your priority. Be transparent about your deadlines with the service provider so they know how much time they have to complete something. If you’re honest about those deadlines, they’ll be able to more effectively plan out what needs to be done and how much time they need.

We provided marketing materials to potential investors and lot owners and received rave reviews which motivated individuals to tour our subdivision and consider investing. We also received positive feedback from existing lot owners on the design and information which legitimized our efforts to create a luxury high end subdivision, making the community feel that they invested in something special.

DDNYC's project management was so streamlined and efficient. Their team was highly skilled and provided us with designs that we would never have imagined on our own. Items were always delivered on time and they were very adaptable to our changes. They also provided beautiful work despite our tight deadlines without blinking an eye.  We can't thank the team enough - our brand is beautiful and it will set the tone for the community.

We officially contracted with DD.NYC on 6/30/2023 to completely redesign our website from scratch. Oh, and we gave them a late August deadline. The DD team did everything in their power to hit this deadline (and they did) and were incredibly responsive throughout the process. At the end of the project, we received a brand-new WordPress site, including a challenging animation, and custom logos for our two products.

Time-to-launch. I've worked with other website agencies and none of them have delivered as quickly as DD.NYC. Not to mention, our site is incredibly unique and best-in-class.

Given the timeline, DD.NYC did an amazing job. I would just encourage future clients to be very specific in your scope of work when outlining a project.

I’m the founder of a pre-launch business in the nutrition industry. We provided targeted health solutions.

Our company is launching in January 2024, and we’ve enlisted DD.NYC®’s help for our branding. We’re in the nutritional powder business that targets various consumers, so it’s important to have proper brand visuals and guidelines for us to be successful.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

During the discovery phase, DD.NYC® set up introductory calls where we could get to know each other. Subsequently, they sent us an extensive form asking questions about our company to get a sense of our brand direction. They conducted their own research and asked follow-up questions that helped them figure out what our brand actually is.

I provided them with name ideas, and they offered their feedback. DD.NYC® then gave me four branding concepts. I gave them formal feedback via email for the concepts they presented. They then iterated the concepts based on my feedback, and we repeated the process 2–3 times until I gave the final signoff. From there, they started working on the brand collateral. 

The collateral included PowerPoint templates and use cases for the brand. Meanwhile, the guidelines served as a comprehensive guide on how we could utilize our brand visuals. They put together brand visuals and color palettes, too. 

What is the team composition?

We work with four key teammates. The founder of the business and their creative director are also involved every step of the way. 

How did you come to work with DD.NYC®?

I did an extensive search on many agencies and interviewed 15 branding agencies until I came across DD.NYC®. They stood out because they were highly responsive and well-organized. The team was clear in terms of what the process with them would look like. 

They were also flexible in what we could include and not include. This was good since we didn’t have a tremendous capital to spend as a startup. Their members were open and willing to have conversations about reducing the scope of work in certain areas to provide us with a more customized experience. As a result, we chose them.

No, there weren’t any. They did such an exceptional job that I couldn’t think of a better team.

DD.NYC® makes everything easy, but it’s always helpful to be clear about what you want. Provide proper guidance to the team. I’m sure they can navigate any situation, but the outcome is always better if the client is as responsive and clear as DD.NYC® is.

All of which included a detailed color palette, specifically cultivated fonts and different logo design options to use in our marketing packet. Additionally, their team assisted out firm with designing holiday gifts of Yeti mugs and hats. They also planned out the design and packaging specs needed to send out the holiday gifts, so that the package was uniquely designed to showcase our new logo to our clients.

The DD.NYC team managed our project very well. They delivered all items on time, and made sure that outside vendors delivered their items on time as well. Their team has always been readily available to respond to our needs within a timely manner and with kindness, even when working close to the holidays.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The DD.NYC team is a very succinct team. I've always felt that all their team members were kept in the loop, making communication effortless. They never drop the ball on communication. Even if I emailed the wrong team member, that person was still able to assist me and/or point me in the right direction to get my needs fulfilled. Their team has a great work ethic with quick turn around times. Our CEO is genuinely amazed with their ability to showcase many logo design ideas that fit within his ideals. They truly are good at what they do.

Are there any areas for improvement or something DD.NYC® could have done differently?

The only room for improvement is to maybe look at having alternative third party vendors for ordering items to be designed on, just to showcase a wider variety of deliverables for holiday or corporate gifting.
