We're creating a new product; mobile apps which needed a new fresh design that matched the look and feel we were going for with out new branding for the product.

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online and contacted a few different vendors. Their work was our favourite and after interviewing with them, we decided to go with them based on their previous work and cost.

Their team thoroughly reviewed our design brief, studied our existing portal products which the app will be based off and spoke to us about the vision for the new product. From there, we chose different areas of the portal product to create designs for (for the mobile app).

They produced iterations, incorporating out feedback and the findings into the final version. They also produced a prototype which helped us understand how the flow would be.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

My team worked directly with a UI/UX designer, project manager and the sales manager in the discovery meeting.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We're very happy with the deliverables from their team. The UI designs provided make the foundation of our app that we're now developing. Feedback from our customers on these designs was positive which validated our decision to proceed with exactly what they provided.

This was important to us as we're working with a special interest group of customers to develop this product. The developers are also happy with what was produced.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The tool used to communicate feedback was extremely effective. We could comment on each section of the design easily. Email communication and check-ins also occurred which gave us several avenues. Everything was delivered on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I personally liked their portfolio, this made it easy to draw inspiration from and show examples of when communicating our needs. They were professional and attentive; navigating through our existing product helped them create something perfect/relevant.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Naming conventions matching was important to us as the designs were used to collaborate with our special interest group. At times this feedback was missed in iterations. However, we're very happy.

As a new start up we hired Duxica to help with our first digital marketing designs for social media as we prepare to launch the company. We wanted really eye catching designs to help highlight the company and portray us in a professional manor.

We found Duxica through Dribbble. After reaching out to a few companies we chose Duxica as they come across as the most genuine and seemed to value our company even as small start up, they took the most interest in our ideas and showed a passion from the intro call to produce what we wanted. All while being at a competitive price

First we had an intro call to explain what we work we would like done, we then agreed on specifics for the designs: cost, timeframe, revision rounds. We paid a 25% deposit with rest on completion. Our first designs were back within 48 hours and project completed within a week.

We were in contact with Mahdi (CEO) throughout and he was the middle man with the design team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The designs are better than we expected. Really pleased with them and will be returning in future.

Constant email contact and video calls if we required.

They made me feel like a VIP customer while completing work, which was delivered on time. I didn't feel rushed or pushed, my requirements were met and more.

As a result of product iteration and consumer feedback, a product UI/UX redesign was required.

How did you select this vendor?

We placed a job opening on dribble and out of some 70 plus applicants, Duxica was hired because they demonstrated the best understanding of our target market segment, and presented the best ideas to the challenges presented to them. also their pricing was very reasonable.

The initial phase was a complete overview of our current product, then next interview was a walkthrough the expectations from design. Then they presented their ideation through wireframes. once the wireframes were approved they started laying out the complete UI.

We worked with Hooman and Mahdi, Hooman was the principal designer and Mahdi was the project manager.

the UI/UX work done by the team was fundamentally great and met all the project requirements.

most of the work was done through figma and communications were done via email and slack. the team is very responsive and very professional.

We were impressed by how they understood the fundamentals of our product and our audience to a great extent. also when they differed from our approach they clearly explained why and it made sense.

No, everything was great. I have recommended them to others based on our experience.

The project required a full UI design from the ground up. We worked in Figma and using our branding and software features Duxica was able to build a UI that met all the standards we agreed to. This included user testing and multiple rounds of feedback which they responded amazing to.

There were other designers working on the project but our main contacts were 2 people form Duxica. One was the Project Lead and the other was the Lead Designer

We have a full working Design our devs are able to build a pixel perfect React App against. In addition to this both internally and externally we have received great feedback for the application

We used Slack for both text and audio which worked great. Communication was always responsive with Duxica.

Design firms for software often do not understand unough about the software product. Duxica, while not a technical shop, was able to understand what our product does and built it accordingly.

Not really very happy.

Redesign all Front End screens for a Dating App. Provided with prototype / mock up and given mood board / influence direction. They took those inputs and provided a whole redesign of the graphical interface / UI. They also worked on redefining some of the UX where they went above and beyond to deliver the brief.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They redesigned all (approximately 40) screens of the App. They also worked through some UI / UX issues and clarified how those things would work where there was ambiguity, which I wasn’t expecting but they really pulled out all the stops and went above and beyond to deliver. In addition they worked up a basic logo as part of their added value.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Extremely responsive. Very well planned, set expectations for timelines well. We ended up going slightly over time but given how much work they did, their passion and commitment to deliver an excellent result - it was worth being a flexible client. And, they didn’t charge me fir the extra time.

They were also extremely cost effective and came in right on budget from the get go, working with what we were able to provide. No negotiation, they just delivered. It was actually quite astonishing how hard they worked and the level of quality provided.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of the result. They (particularly Saman in our case) just have a brilliant eye for design. The detail and passion with which they work is incredibly rare in todays world. The commitment of time on the ground. You just don’t expect to find vendors who are this good atm.

I’m a very hard client to please, I’ve worked for some of the largest and most profitable global businesses and these guys are just incredible. To anyone out there thinking of hiring them my advice to you is, don’t even hesitate - just hire them.

None actually, maybe know your value. Keep working at it and stay humble and flexible. You’ll just do incredibly well and be very very successful.

They use Figma, which is good as it is simple to convert to code.

For what projects/services did your company hire Duxica?

We were doing a rebranding exercise with a company. As part of it we worked with a branding team to completely change how we present ourselves. Duxica was responsible for taking the brand guidelines and coming up with the complete UI/UX for our new website.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I put out posts on multiple social media platforms. Duxica reached out to me on twitter. I interviewed them along with other choices I had. Most places I interviewed were focused on just redoing our existing pages, whereas Duxica wanted to think about the complete UX.

We had discovery calls with Duxica, Hoopo (our org), and our branding contractor. Our vision for the website was shared along with a sample wireframe of some pages. Duxica worked on top of these to create a clean and consistent set of pages and additionally completed the missing pages we needed. They shared there initial drafts with us on figma. We made comments on what worked for us and what didn't. They were super patient with us to understand our pain points and worked on the best design for our us and our users.

There was a lead designer along with 2 people to support him.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The output of the design of the website was complete. Our development did not need to think about anything and just implement everything from Figma. The turnaround time for the designs was extremely fast, our team was probably the bottleneck in most cases. Our users loved the new workflows as well.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was easy to communicate, we added them to our slack so communication was easy on slack and directly on the design boards on figma.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They needed very little information to get started, after we synced on the kind of design we were looking for, there was little to no feedback on the final result. They are some of the few UI/UX companies that offer "design thinking" which is the most important thing in my opinion. You want your UI/UX team to have a mind of their critical thinking ability, not just UI redesign of the existing flows.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their workflows didn't include negative paths, i.e what happens if the users face a certain error in the flow, or what could go wrong? It would be nice for them to think about those things by default
