A financial services company hired Geniusee to help them develop custom software for their customers. The team’s most recent works entailed creating a niche financing platform and a full website UX/UI redesign.
Customers of the client have been very satisfied with Geniusee’s development and design work. The team has proven themselves to be very thorough yet flexible project planners. The client appreciates their efficiency, transparency, and high-level involvement in every undertaking.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project manager of a small firm that deals with a lot of different projects. Our department is partially an agency that works with clients for marketing and branding, while other departments work in sectors such as real estate and financing.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
We’ve worked on a number of different projects that involved creating custom software as well as customer-facing and corporate websites. One project, in particular, revolved around the development of a financing platform in the merchant sector. For this, we sought Geniusee’s expertise.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve used Geniusee’s services for numerous projects. They’ve helped us redesign the UX/UI of an entire website for a client in the gambling industry. They’ve also assisted one of our clients with developing a niche financing platform that could bring offline technologies online. The original version of the platform, which our client had already built, had bad coding and was very buggy and glitchy, so we decided as a company to redo the whole thing from scratch.
The development of the niche platform had already started prior to my joining the company, so I was not around to write the original scope of work. I did, however, help finish this project and kickstart a new one for which we are also using the team’s services.
What is the team composition?
I work closely with the Taras (CEO & Co-Founder) who has made himself very available to me, and I speak on a daily basis with Pavlo (COO) who has been there from the very beginning. I’ve also touched base with a business analyst who has helped define certain requirements from a technical and business perspective.
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
Geniusee was already with our company when I joined. To my understanding, the person who I replaced found them through Clutch.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested well over $1 million dollars at this point.
What is the status of this engagement?
The scope for the first project was written out around November–December 2020. The niche platform was finished in March 2021 but we’re still working with the team.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I can’t disclose exact data and metrics since some of those are confidential, but our clients have been pretty satisfied with the custom software developed by Geniusee. The platform is operable and we’ve gone into creating similar prototypes for other clients for the purpose of investment.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
Geniusee is able to work quickly, efficiently, and transparently. They always keep me in the loop regarding their progress and we meet 1–2 times a week, depending on the project. The team uses Excel and Jira to manage our projects.
They’re extremely flexible when laying out the scope; every time I present them with a challenge, they’re able to outline the exact technologies and type of cooperation needed for that particular project. They can determine whether we need a dedicated team, a consultant, or a part-time materials developer. We’re always presented with options based on the circumstances and budget.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What I love about working with Geniusee is that they prioritize trying to bring in as much value as possible. They’re not like some companies who will rush into saying yes just to take our money. This team really thinks about all of the potential problems that shouldn’t go ignored before hopping into development, answering a lot of our critical questions, and making sure that all of their bases are covered.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could work a little faster, but then again, that would compromise quality in their eyes.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear about what you want and be transparent when you need assistance. Geniusee can definitely provide a business analyst who will help you think through business problems before you go into actual development. As long as you communicate with the team, they’ll work to solve whatever challenge you have for them.

Geniusee is building a real estate startup's site using AWS, React, and Node.js. A team of six people is working on the project, and they're integrating Google Maps and an email feature on the platform.
While the work is ongoing, Geniusee has been able to complete the MVP of the client's website. They're accessible, disciplined, and skilled, which enables seamless workflow. The partnership's positive results enable them to establish a strong ongoing collaboration.

client over the phone. Below is an edited

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a manager for a technology startup.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
We hired Geniusee to help us with website development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The engagement started with a high-level overview of project requirements where I described the site’s functionality and delivered designs to Geniusee. After that, they came back with an estimate.
The team continues to develop our website. For the front- and backend, they’re using React and Node.js, respectively. They also utilize Serverless or AWS. They spearhead our Google Maps and email integration efforts, too. Then, they're set to develop a landing page that’s in line with our design. Overall, they’re 100% in charge of coding our website.
What is the team composition?
We’re working with six people from Geniusee, including developers, designers, engineers, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
Geniusee was referred by an experienced developer we worked with.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing partnership began in January 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve successfully launched our website’s MVP, and they’re able to stick to our agreed schedule.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
We call three times a week, and we use Slack and Jira. In connection with that, their communication is top-notch.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve worked with another team before collaborating with Geniusee, and they couldn’t get our project done. Geniusee is like a breath of fresh air because they have highly capable developers, and they're an agile team capable of getting our product to launch. They’re also disciplined, and they care about successfully delivering our requirements as opposed to some agencies that care more about generating revenue.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’d like them to accomplish projects even faster.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Prepare a roadmap of your project and have reasonable expectations. You should also communicate to Geniusee about potential needs such as if you need more developers along the way. Let them run the project because they know the process quite well — they’re a very committed team, and they know how to deliver what you need.

Geniusee created a custom Laravel platform for an artist marketplace company. The team worked in PHP and it’s hosted on AWS.
Geniusee delivered the platform efficiently. There were very few bugs and the project was completed in a quick turnaround time. The team was transparent and offered realistic deadlines. Geniusee’s senior management fosters a true sense of trust and camaraderie.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of a marketplace for photographers and artists so they can sell their artwork and digital downloads online.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
We set out to make a platform that simplified the e-commerce space. We wanted to include drop shipping options for photographers in an easy-to-use interface that didn’t require a lot of manual product creation.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Geniusee started as the lead on our Laravel side. They focused on the architecture of the application and did PHP-related Laravel development. I did all the frontend JavaScript myself. The site is hosted on AWS.
What is the team composition?
I worked with one developer primarily. I also worked with their CEO and CTO.
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
I found them on UpWork initially. We decided to work with each other directly through a contract we both signed. I chose them because our website spoke to our needs. Their CEO and CTO had some good ideas on how to build this platform from scratch.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $45,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2019, and we wrapped up in January 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time. The team had very low error rates in their application, too. Their work allowed us to bring the MVP very quickly. They implemented rigid application architecture to make innovating on the platform easy.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
We met daily in SCRUM meetings. The team was honest when I proposed a deadline that was too quick. They’d help me come up with new deadlines, too. The team was very transparent and upfront.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their honesty and transparency stand out. When you work with contractors, it requires a great deal of trust, especially if they’re in another country. Their CEO and CTO were trustworthy and friendly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Embracing third-party tools that have already been created could have helped us get to market more efficiently.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to have a clearly defined scope of work. Focus on what you want the application to do. Understand what the application needs to accomplish from top to bottom.

Geniusee created an ERP system using .NET Core and a headless architecture for a restaurant management system. Additionally, they integrated relevant APIs using GraphQL.
The team met all specified requirements and impressed the technical internal partner. The quality of their delivery is consistent, and their communication allowed them to seamlessly manage any project roadblocks. Customers can expect strong engineering resources and cutting-edge technology.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of an ERP company that we’re marketing in Saudi Arabia.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
We’re hired them to develop the ERP system that targets small businesses.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They created a platform and mobile application for a restaurant ERP platform. We had several meetings at the start of the project where I provided some descriptions of what we wanted. They developed the system from scratch, but we had an internal developer check their work on our end.
The backend was developed with .NET Core, and they used a headless architecture. For the API, they used GraphQL. We specifically wanted a native mobile experience, and they agreed to deliver on those requirements.
What is the team composition?
I worked with 6–7 people from their team, including developers, designers, an architect, a QA specialist, and a business developer. I didn’t directly interact with the entire team that was staffed on the project. We had two main points of contact, one of which was Taras (CEO).
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
We found them online through Clutch and other web resources. I searched for several companies in India, Ukraine, and Poland. Their team was located close to me, had strong communication, and outstanding development skills. It was clear they knew what they were doing and could manage a project like ours well. After checking a reference, we heard only good things about them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $150,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in December 2019. The project was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we’re picking development back up now.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They did the project exactly as my requirements specified. As a technology person myself, I check up on their work regularly. They also provide me with reports on the quality of the platform as they move through phases of development. Everything has gone well.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated using email and Slack. They’re good communicators and manage the project well. When we meet, we’ve used Skype, Google Hangouts, Zoom, and WhatsApp. If we need help with something, they always reply.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The software expertise they have is amazing. They’re developing the best technology out there at the moment.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I think everything is fine. A buyer always wants a cheaper price, but we’re very satisfied with their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’d advise everyone to work with them because they’re a very good team. They were organized and experienced in complex technology development.

Geniusee works remotely as a development staff augmentation resource for a company that builds digital platforms. They managed projects and tasks on their own, collaborating with the internal team bi-weekly.
The team's work holds up well against thorough rounds of testing conducted both internally and externally. Their fresh, top talent encouraged creative ideas and unique approaches to projects that elevated their work. Despite the project's complexity, they're clear in their technical explanations.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the CEO and founder of Tagler Harbor. We build digital platforms for different industries.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
We are a competitor to Geniusee, but from time to time we have a shortage of development resources and need subcontractors. They help us with additional resources in those instances.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We gave them some requirements for what we wanted to see in the final product. Then, we started having bi-weekly conversations as they made progress against our development requirements.
If there were corrections or updates we wanted to make to their work, we communicated them during those bi-weekly meetings. They managed the work from their side, working remotely. In this effort, they operated as a turnkey solution for development team augmentation resources.
What is the team composition?
In total, we worked with a team of 5–6 people including the developers, project manager, and a QA specialist.
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
We had a tender and bidding and were considering a few companies from Ukraine, Belarus, the United States, and other places. We interviewed all of them to understand their capabilities and their overall rates, which were all pretty different. We required them to send us some portfolio projects that they had already built.
They stood out with their experience and the work they've completed for their clients already. Selecting the right company was a long process, but we eventually decided to use Geniusee for the project that we had in mind.
How much have you invested in them?
We've spent more than $200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in 2018 and finished the project in the summer of 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In the beginning, we said we would definitely need to measure the quality of work performed. We track how the platform is performing by checking for bugs, overall SEO performance, and site speed on both desktop and mobile. We tested everything ourselves as well. Geniusee provided some resources for testing, but we tested the platform ourselves and let other people test it as well. We needed to ensure that everything worked perfectly.
If an issue pops up, we report it back to them, and they try to fix it as soon as possible. Through our extensive testing, we determined that everything worked well that they delivered. The product they built is very complex, with tons of features. We looked at all the DevOps KPIs and UI/UX, testing through having our customers on the platform. We're pleased with their work.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
They've become like family to us. We had frequent calls and we visited their office once as well. Project management went well because we had a dedicated person operating as our point of contact. She was experienced and kind. Some people from my team aren’t skilled in IT, but Geniusee was tolerant in answering their questions and willing to explain concepts several times.
When we had ideas for new features, the project manager would explain whether it was possible, how long it would take, or why it wasn't possible. We had very good contact with them and built a very good relationship with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their creativity and ability to find a creative solution stood out. Our platform is very complex, and there wasn’t a straightforward technology or approach to take. They did a very good job defining what kind of technology we needed to use in order to make the project cheaper.
They advised on the kinds of infrastructure we needed to put behind the platform in order to save some money. It always felt like they were on my side, which made the relationship go beyond that of a partnership between a client and supplier. They became a real partner, which was the most important thing for me.
They're very professional and relatively young, so they have a fresh view of technology. Previously, we were working with a company that had more senior people and took a very old-school approach. We can see a big difference between Geniusee and the other company we worked with which is very cool.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I've already shared my feedback with them, but there was a problem with communication at times. It wasn't in issue across our teams, it was an issue with the communication between the Geniusee team.
I sometimes noticed that people on the team didn’t understand what the other people are doing. It didn’t interrupt our work with them, but I'd recommend that they look deeply into their internal communication processes. This isn't a critical issue for people working with their team, but something that might help them to address so they can become even better than they are now.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If we have clients that want that great expertise and we don’t have the resources to perform, Geniusee will be the first company that I would recommend. Come to them with a clear idea for the project.
While you should have a project plan, they will challenge your thinking in explaining to you what will work and what won't. However, it's critical to have a concept. They will match your motivation for bringing value to customers, feeling the energy, purpose, and unique value proposition.
They will definitely help and won't hesitate to put their opinions on the table. . If they see the idea will not work in the way the client thinks, they will correct them and share their opinion.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a fintech and EdTech company. We have an on-demand video platform which users can subscribe to access our original video content.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
I was working with another team, and it was fine, but it wasn’t very professional. On top of that, it wouldn’t be able to support thousands of users. We hired Geniusee to improve the quality of our product.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re our full-time engineering team. They’ve provided a team comprised of a project manager, a frontend developer, backend developer, QA tester, and designer located in Ukraine. They’ve created a bespoke PHP and React platform. Our CTO decides on features and creates a roadmap, and then they execute it.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with six people. Navariy (CTO) is our main point of contact and he works directly with our CTO.
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
I hired a senior CTO and he recommended that we work with Geniusee.
How much have you invested with them?
W spent about £120,000 (approximately $155,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around January 2020 and it’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our platform is up 99% of the time. They’ve also improved the site’s load time for 3.5 seconds to 2.5 seconds. They consistently perform and meet sprint requirements.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
They work well with our CTO and project manager, who oversees the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Compared to our previous provider, they’re more professional.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They’re growing quickly, which is fine, but they need to concentrate on the clients they work with already and assure that they’re happy.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
We had a senior tech expert manage the project from the UK, then we utilized Geniusee to execute on certain projects. That helped prevent any communication issues, especially since there was a bit of a language barrier.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director of a skin health startup.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
We created a device that measures UV radiation. We needed someone to develop the mobile application that connects to the device.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We wrote the backend ourselves, as well as the first version of the app. Geniusee is helping us write an app that’s appealing to consumers, easy to use, and captures all the real time data we need. It’s built for both iOS and Android.
The team also took over the design aspect of the project. Their designer created one screen, which we were able to review and decided whether we wanted to move forward. We ended up finding the design very modern and clean, and we liked it a lot, so we decided to pass off the redesign component to Geniusee as well.
What is the team composition?
We have a project manager assigned to us, as well as a developer, designer, and QA tester.
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
I met Taras (CEO) at a trade fair in Munich. At that time, we had another developer working for us, but we weren’t happy with their service. I decided to approach Taras a few months after meeting to have Geniusee step in and continue the project.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $15,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since May 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app hasn’t been launched yet, but we’re pleased with Geniusee’s services so far. We’ve spoken to friends, customers, and investors, and everyone loves the appearance of the app.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
They do very well. We have a weekly phone call, and I always admire how to the point they are. Sometimes, our phone calls only last 10 minutes, but everything is clear by the time they’re over.
We also use Slack to communicate, which works very well. We’re very impressed with their responsiveness, especially on the developer’s side.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Geniusee is very committed. They’re fast, and they have a high quality design and development team. We’re very impressed with the quality of the app.
Are there any areas they could improve?
To be honest, not really.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The better you know what you want, the better the project will be.

I’m the co-founder and co-CEO for a fintech company building out mobile and web app interface. We’re trying to build an system of consumers and merchants to reward responsible consumption behaviors.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Geniusee?
We built an MVP with contract developers onshore, but now that we’re looking to scale up and improve the platform, we engaged Geniusee to be our tech team.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’re focused on handing over our technology stack to them. They’re working with React Native for the mobile app and .NET for our backend infrastructure. This is all hosted on Microsoft Azure as well. Initially, they will be fixing some bugs and improving performance.
Then they will embark on taking ownership of our various deployment activities. That includes everything from development to QA, DevOps, and deployment.
Further down the line, we plan to work with them to build a blockchain-related solution. They’re now our outsource tech team.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with various levels, including the CEO, COO, and their CTO oversees the development team, which is comprised of a React Native developer and one person from their DevOps team.
How did you come to work with Geniusee?
I worked with them on another project a couple of years ago. I was impressed with what they were capable of doing, but before making a decision, we did go out to market to explore what solutions were available. We found Geniusee to be the most competent and budget-friendly.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $20,000, but then we plan to spend about $7,500 per month and that will scale up over time.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in August 2020 and our partnership is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve eliminated bugs in our functioning product and have improved performance speed.
How did Geniusee perform from a project management standpoint?
They were exceptional. We have daily stand-ups with the project manager and development team. We get weekly reports that include time cards and work efforts. Then, of course, we have Jira boards to manage sprints and the backlog activity. When it comes to communication, it’s usually me who holds up the process. I’m very grateful for their process and operations.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were willing and capable of making suggestions to improve the direction of our products and platform. They’re focused on delivery more than time. Their number one priority is delivering a good product.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything at this point.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
In order to maximize the return on the partnership, clients need to be prepared and know what you want to get out of the engagement. I also recommend that clients have an open dialogue because they have the knowledge to provide recommendations and ideas.

We tried in the beginning to have our in-house development team, and we have a couple of outsourcing IT consultancies references as well. however we start to consider all the choices and started to check all the mobile development companies that we can work with and start to meet them, we choose Geniusee because of the professionalism and commitment that we felt through the hiring process.
Describe the project in detail.
Once we decided to move forward with Geniusee, we did a meeting with their project manager and start to analyze our requirements and what is our concerns, and when we want the project to be done.
They gave good BA documents and we toke their documents and start to discuss it with the team and give them our feedback, after that within two weeks they provided us with mockups then wireframe and we started to build two mobile apps for our end users and couriers as React Native app for IOS and Andriod with Node JS in the backend

after almost 4 months and many modifications that have been requested from our side because of some changes in the business model, we have our versions on Apple and Google stores, and we started to receive orders and good comments on our customer support team. most of our users liked the way the app was done and we were proud of the results.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was good actually, the project manager from their side ensured to keep us posted regarding the process of the development, every week we were receiving a detailed report about what has been done, pending and need to review from our part. online meeting was happening all the time and the good communications skills of the project make our life easier and communication faster

The process could be faster, but their commitment and hardworking was one of the very important things that make Geniusee different from the others. so they did their best to give us the best scenario, a good app with bug-free and reliable time for delivery
