The scope of work included full-stack software engineering, platform architecture, cloud infrastructure planning, AI-assisted workflows, API development, authentication systems, analytics, QR and short-link technologies, and operational tooling for administration and scalability. Across these projects, the team contributed to both customer-facing experiences and complex backend systems, helping transform early concepts into production-ready platforms capable of supporting enterprise growth and large-scale user adoption. In fact, the QA team because amazing product managers and merged two roles into one.

Project management has been excellent throughout our engagement. We receive detailed daily status reports, communication is consistent, and the team has never missed a scheduled update or delivery commitment. Over email or Slack, they do it. Our app has had over 450 downloads, and we haven’t even promoted it yet. We will promote it when we have a second streaming app that I'm working on. 

How did Moon Technolabs perform from a project management standpoint?

Moon Technolabs has been great at responding and communicating. They’re understanding and take their time to work through problems and find great solutions. If we're not happy with someting, the team will work through it with us. They’ve also been very flexible and allowed us to take our time with the project. They don't rush us and want to make sure the result is the best it can be.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Working with Moon Technolabs has been such a great experience that I want to travel to India to meet them. The whole team has been amazing, and I've enjoyed working with them. We see this as a lifelong partnership.

No, there’s nothing I can think of.

Take your time, and don’t rush anything. Research app development and have a good idea of what you want in terms of design and functionality.

Our Project Manager was amazing. He communicated effectively and quickly, and resolved any issues (we only had some really minor usability issues) very quick. We worked with a "main" person for the web based admin, IOS App and Android App. Being able to communicate with them directly was a huge advantage as it sped up the process and allowed us to be a big part of the development. It was very clear their focus was making a high quality product while keeping the client happy.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our App just launched in both the Google Play Store and IOS Store. We are currently starting with our marketing plan to gain users.

We used a third part software (basecamp) as our main mode of communication. This worked well throughout the project. We are in vastly different timezones, however this never has been an issues. MoonLab Technolabs communicated frequently and I was always up to date on the progress of our project.

Their ability and willingness to take feedback and fix and adjust to anything we requested is impressive.

Honestly, no.

They designed a pre-order manager app that integrates with e-commerce websites through the Shopify platform. There are many functions that operate within the app including email deliveries, quantity limits, automatic deliveries and API feeds.

There were 9 people in the core team for this specific project. There was an account manager for direct contact, web designers, developers and an overall manager for any financial queries.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I have spent the last 3-months working with the team from Moon Technolabs and they have been fantastic to work with. The quality of work is great, very responsive with getting back to me in a timely manner and all the developers understand the tasks well and deliver on time. I will continue to work with all the team members that have helped with our project. I look forward to what we can achieve in the near future.

The project management was great, I was able to speak with the Project Manager directly which was important to me. Each and every task has been taken on board and applied to our application without any issues.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There was no task too big or too small. When developing a project there are always things that change, or you might have a new idea halfway through. The team would listen and apply what I had requested without any drama.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

My only suggestion would be having a team on-call over the weekend periods. With online and tech services, they run 24-7 and you just don't know when you might run into an issue or require support. In addition to this, if your clients enquire online it's not. great look if it takes 2-3 days to get back to them with a request.

Chief Innovation is my company and I serve as Chairman, and primarily involved in management consulting around the world, but also with innovative new startups. Thought based in Dallas, I've worked in 8 countries and was almost head and founder of an India-based outsourcing firm for 11 years.

For what projects/services did your company hire Moon Technolabs Pvt Ltd, and what were your goals?

We needed a development partner to build mobile applications for both Apple and Google Play stores, and also 3 different websites for related areas to the application. The original project was only for the applications, but in working with Moon we felt having them do the websites was an easy decision and their estimates were in line with what we expected, so we awarded them all 3 websites.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Over 2 years ago (possibly end of 2018), we did a small project to get estimates and structure for how our app would be developed. In March of 2020, we reached out to the 4 firms from that effort to see who was available. Only 2 were. We then invited 5 additional firms to bid. For 4 of those firms, we paid them $300 to prepare a proposal with example screen shots.

We liked Moon from the start, and are ecstatic we found them. Two bidders were more expensive, with one being 1.5x their price, and the other being over 2x (and trying to convince us not to do cross platform, which we knew was a waste). The final losing bidder was 35% cheaper, but laughable in both their proposal and screens (which they tried to avoid submitted - a pure low price bait & switch from our perspective).

Moon had excellent quality, the best price, a well detailed proposal and struck us as honest from the start. And continually reinforced that throughout or working together.

I believe they used React Native and Laravel for the back end. We had 5-6 milestones, and I am going to try to post a link to my initial deck (with some things scrubbed that I have on SlideShare). The scope was to have two working apps in the Apple and Google Stores with an operating back end (note: we made the back end a single command center for both apps and all three websites, they did an amazing job on this).

I kicked off the project with a 93 page slide deck with what I wanted, along with a spreadsheet of 6-8 worksheets showing other details. The final Use Case count for the apps was around 625. Additional Support Numerous other people, but most direction went through Bharat. They obviously had multiple types of developers, including database, website and Laravel. They had every skill we needed to accomplish all of our deliverables successfully.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Applications (HeirList) are in both Apple & Google Play stores. Websites (deathcenter.com, heirlist.com, passingexpert.com) are all live and connected to same back end as the apps. We are elated at the quality, especially of the app. I am showing all my friends in the States, with a 'you should call Moon' to do yours.

They were a pleasure to work with. One thing I insisted on was 'no phone calls' as I like communicating in writing, as it allows for confusion to be eliminated. With COVID there may have been some minor gaps in responses, but almost without fail all responses were provided within 24 hours (given time zone differences), and many from Bharat far sooner as he seemed to work as much as I do.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Loved them, and can spell out exactly why.

1) Honest - which when dealing with 'new' firms isn't a given

2) Quality - did great work, start knew they'd exceed expectations

3) Affordable - they won on price, then continued to be reasonable

4) Flexible - this project was probably far more complicated than they expected, and even then we expected.

The app is fairly straight forward in what it does, but is actually very complex in functionality (see YouTube HeirList channel videos). I kept waiting to have a painful scope change conversation. But it never came. Jayanti continued to let me know they were committed to doing what was agreed to.

He should never underestimate my gratitude for his support for us. I am actively trying to help them grow their business in the U.S. and made it clear I neither want nor will accept any fees or commissions. I am doing US companies a favor by this. As I tell my friends, I went to Upwork to find a Development contractor, and wound up getting a Trusted Partner. And that Moon is!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Had two small issues relating to English that he can implement almost immediately, so will discuss those with him as I forgot to say anything. I ran an offshore business for 11 years, so I know the drill. Honestly am going to decline the opportunity to provide 'what could be done better' as all the positives cloud out any issues that may have occurred.

When they were tasked with fixing a large subscription management problem, they found a way to update the app to enable our users to continue with their subscriptions in the market. This was such a relief for me. They successfully update the app when needed to allow us to maintain the standards of the App Store.

We used Basecamp and Skype for communication. They communicated in a timely manner, responding quickly to my questions and concerns. Like any development project, we ran into issues. But, they responded quickly to mitigate harm.

They proactively schedule calls to clarify their work and always understand my goals. Their team sticks to the quotes they give. It’s difficult to inherit a project from another development shop, but they were able to read and understand it to effectively deliver.

I would love if they ran further tests before turning their work in. If they did some additional testing on their end, they’d save me even more time.

Our company had a mobile app created in native Java and Objective C a few years ago for the NSOPW mobile app by contractors. We are a .NET focused company and had a hard time maintaining the application. We reached out to Moon Technolabs to rewrite the mobile apps into a single code base using Xamarin which is based in C# which we can maintain in the future.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted our mobile app to have the same functionality as our current one with a few minor enhancements but just written in Xamarin which we could support in house for any future updates needed.

We used Upwork.com to find a list of vendors who have had experience doing this work in the past. I reached out to a few of them and after discussions with about 3 different potential vendors i settled on Moon Technolabs after viewing their reviews on upwork.com and having a conversation with them.

Describe the project in detail.

After we selected the vendor we discussed 4 major milestones. The application its self is a simple one. It queries an API which we provide and then displays a list of sex offenders on a map based on your location or an address given. We currently have a mobile app that does this but was not written in languages which we could easily support in-house. We had a few minor layout changes as well to match the color scheme of our updated web site.

I initially spoke with their sales/project manager on the upwork.com site but once the project kicked off I was in contact with at least two other developers using basecamp.com to help coordinate tasks

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They completed every milestone days before they were originally set and have been extremely fast in fixing any issues we have found. They were able to do everything we asked and more. We have not launched the new application yet as we are waiting on approval by the Department of Justice to launch our new layout.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They used basecamp.com to coordinate and communicate with me along with managing tasks workflow. They always quickly replied to any feedback we had and were very responsive. There was a time delay since we are about 11 hours difference but I always had messages from them every morning about questions they had or responses to any issue we found. The time difference was not an issue since it allowed my staff to test their product and code during the day while they made changes while we were off.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was amazed at how quickly they were able to get things done and the professionalism of their staff. It has wowed myself and my boss at how quickly they are able to turn around a version for us to test when there were changes to be made. They have been extremely communicative to us with all their needs and making sure that we were happy with the product.

I am sure there is something but honestly everything they have done has been done extremely well. I really don't have any complaints as they have exceeded what I originally expected.
