What stood out most was the highly personal relationship we experienced throughout the project. Even though our project was not the largest, we always felt like an important client and as if we were their top priority. Communication and transparency were excellent—we could follow progress at any time, which gave us full confidence in the process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something VALMAX could have done differently?

Overall, the collaboration with VALMAX was excellent, but there are a few areas where the experience could be further improved. At times, long email threads made communication a bit challenging; having a dedicated project chat channel (e.g., Slack) would have streamlined discussions and kept everything in one place. Additionally, toward the end of the project we had to purchase a few extra licenses for WordPress plugins ourselves. While this was not a major issue, it would have been ideal if such licenses were provided under an agency license so that everything came from one source.

I consulted with two or three web design firms before beginning my project, and immediately decided to go with ValMax after meeting with them. From the very first meeting, I could tell that they were engaged, committed, flexible, and committed to realizing my ideas, and this proved to be the case throughout the duration of the project. After I conveyed my aesthetic vision for the website, they created a few different general website layouts for me to choose among. After I selected the perfect one, they then systematically built out the entire website on the basis of that layout and the general aesthetic vision that it reflected. The layout that Valmax created and the ensuing building out of the website clearly showed that they had listened and genuinely understood the ideas that I had conveyed. For example, they thoughtfully viewed the photos of my office that I provided in order to generate a website color scheme that accorded with the color scheme of my physical office. They also came up with clever ideas to make my website interactive and compelling in a way that would help it stand out from the competition. For example, they rendered digital versions of hand-drawn diagrams that I provided and then arranged these digitized diagrams in an easy-to-use scrolling menu, and similarly arranged the branding photographs that I provided in a compelling way. The building out of the website was generally a straightforward process, and ValMax was always very responsive and communicative whenver any hiccups had to be worked through. I now have a beautiful, crisp, and modern website that I couldn't be happier with to represent my practice!

We approached Valmax with the goal of a complete rebranding . We effectively wanted a completely new look to go with our new web application. Step 1 was to find the right logo. Once we settled on a logo when then went for the brand fonts,colors, etc. We were glad that Valmax suggested we be bold because this was part of our core objectives at the start of the project. We trusted and followed through and glad we listened. Step 3 was to build out a wireframe of what all we wanted to be included in the website. Again this was done against a strategy. The temptation was always to add more to the website but this was counter of website strategy. Once the wirframe was completed, it was reviewed, signed off and then work began on the implementation and animations. Finally, we did all the connections of neccesary licenses and agreed the project was completed according to expectations.

We agreed that 10am Tuesday weekly would be virtual meetings where progress was presented and the next steps discussed. The ensured we were always moving forward but not too rapidly that we were not able to deliver the 'homework' given to us. So the weekly meeting gave us sufficient time to get the deliverables on time. We had a strict budget and wanted the best possible outcome. The website hit both sweetspots where we got an excellent website for a fair price. Not easy to find this sort of value spectrum

It was managed by one project manager. All meetings were hosted by the project manager and all my change requests or questions were sent to the project manager. This ensured I had a single direct point of contact. My needs were always responded to rapidly and with thorough answers . This allowed me to make informed decisions. When something was easily understood, I was able to ask the questions during the virtual meetings.

I really enjoyed working with the PM who was also the owner. This gave me the sense that I was working with a PM with vast experience. 

What was also unique was intially we wanted the project done within a short timeframe but what became apparent was in-fact we didnt need to rush as our launch of our website was to be tied to our new app launch . And VALMAX allowed us to move at our own desired pace. This ensured we didnt rush the process and we got the best possible outcome. So the flexibility that they could work slower because it suited our needs was great!

VALMAX has developed an effective mechanism to import the product descriptions database. We measure success through mockup perception by a focus group, website performance, and lack of issues and errors. We also measure the website's performance after the launch through look and feel validation on various platforms and search speed. We agreed on a certain timeline and milestones, including project scope, website design, website development, content import, debugging, and public launch.  I chose VALMAX — and never regretted it. Our collaboration has been well-structured, their design mockups matched my expectations, and they built a custom import system that made product updates much easier. VALMAX helps us design and develop our WordPress website. The team has gone through discovery, negotiation, and initial conceptual design phases. We’ve reviewed and approved the initial designs and provided feedback through Figma. They’ve also gone through the final design and development phase, and we’ve since launched the website. 

For features, the website has a landing page with a 3D animation video produced by VALMAX. The video is related to our work and industry and captures the user’s attention, helping with the bounce rate. We want to legitimize ourselves in the eyes of our existing and potential customers. The website also has an About Us page, a Services page, a Contact page, and a page with our work. 

At present, VALMAX is working on a Merchandise page, a Blog page, and a Newsletter page.

Our primary focus has been to legitimize our company in the mind of our existing customers, and we’ve received great feedback about the website’s design and functionality. We expect the site’s design and development to be an incredible asset for converting leads. Overall, the website is doing exactly what we want; in fact, the bounce rate has dropped by almost 100%. 

How did VALMAX perform from a project management standpoint?

VALMAX has delivered the work on time and within budget. We’ve had some tough spots. Initially, they didn’t take a collaborative or creative approach. As a customer, we’ve had some clear ideas on things we wanted to incorporate, and we’ve had some creative differences. Once we’ve managed to be clear about expectations, VALMAX has opened up to our input into the creative process, and we’ve ended up with a very good result. We communicate via phone calls, emails, Google Documents, and ClickUp.

VALMAX has a very high self-image of their capabilities.

VALMAX could discover whether the client has any creative ideas at the start and be more open to evaluating outside stakeholders' creative input. Their communication has been average and straightforward, but sometimes it’s a little too direct and not expansive enough to understand all the intent.

Come to the table with some concepts, a mood board, and a description of what you want. VALMAX will have something to work with and provide early concepts that can guide the direction and get results faster.

The only thing I can think of is having a tracking system for customer feedback—something like a comment with a status (not started, in progress, completed). At the beginning, I had a lot of questions and suggestions, and since communication was mostly via email, it wasn’t easy to understand what had been completed and what was still in progress. The same applies to bug reports.
