I’m the marketing director of Cerri.com AG, a SaaS company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Avidi Technology?

We hired Avidi for their custom software development services. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We outsource development tasks to Avidi. They’re a Microsoft-focused shop, so they develop using .NET on the backend and Angular on the frontend. The deliverable is a project management software, which the team has developed from scratch. This software has everything from Kanban boards to charts. It has task, budget, and collaboration management features. Timesheets, workflow controls, portfolio management, and resource management features are available, too. 

What is the team composition?

The team’s size has varied at different project stages. At one point, we’ve worked with 10 people, which consist of 6–7 developers. 

How did you come to work with Avidi Technology?

We found Avidi online when we were searching for Microsoft shops in Ukraine.

How much have you invested with them?

Our company has invested around $300,000 in this project. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

To measure success, we’ve measured the software’s performance and quality, along with its timely delivery. Avidi has met all of our metrics with excellent results. 

How did Avidi Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

Avidi’s project management is good. We’ve used a process to control our budget. For a project as large as this one, we can’t always be 100% under budget. 

Our team has underestimated some things because requirements become more complex — we can’t always think of everything from the get-go. As a result, the final scope of the project has become bigger than initially anticipated. 

Meanwhile, to manage the engagement, Avidi uses Microsoft DevOps. We use Teams and Skype to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their strength lies in how they structure their teams for the client. This has worked out well for us. We have smart people working on our project, so I’m happy about the resources we have. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can argue a bit more when it comes to proposing solutions that they think are the best in the longer run. Sometimes, to satisfy their client’s budget, Avidi proposes solutions that work in the short term; they don’t insist on implementing solutions for the long term. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Scope out the project properly to make sure that there’s no misunderstanding between your teams.
