The project involved the conceptualization and development of a high-fidelity prototype for our startup’s career networking application, with the primary objective of showcasing the product vision to potential investors. The collaboration with Brainhub was designed to both refine the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) concept and produce an interactive, visually polished prototype.

Phase 1 – Brainstorming & Scope Definition

The key deliverables for the project included an MVP Scope Document outlining detailed functional and non-functional requirements for the prototype along with prioritized features; a Wireframe Set presenting low-fidelity layouts to illustrate the app’s structure and user flows; High-Fidelity UI Designs showcasing finalized visuals for all key screens in alignment with the brand identity; an Interactive Prototype that was fully clickable and navigable, simulating the MVP’s main features for demonstration purposes; and Design & Development Feedback Logs documenting review sessions and the refinements implemented throughout the process.

The measurable outcomes from the project included the completion of a fully functional, high-fidelity interactive prototype that accurately reflected the agreed MVP scope and was delivered on time and within budget. The prototype successfully incorporated all prioritized features identified during the brainstorming phase, demonstrating clear alignment with the project’s objectives. Additionally, the design achieved full brand consistency across all screens, and iterative feedback rounds resulted in a final version that met 100% of the functional and visual requirements outlined in the MVP scope document. Most importantly, the prototype provided a tangible, investor-ready product demonstration, enabling the startup to effectively communicate its value proposition and vision to potential stakeholders.

Brainhub were given a POC calculation of a very overengineered (regulatory) formula that is required to determine a sample size for certain audits.  We gave them a very high level brief on what the tool needed to do, and left the rest in their hands.  They decided the technologies to use, how to build the algorithms, how to input and output and then showed us.  Works perfectly, needed very little guidance from us to build a slick looking interface.

All good from my perspective, it was a small project that shouldn't have caused too many struggles anyway, so definitely a green flag that they didn't create any.

The objective of this project was to develop a functional MVP for a custom online marketplace, enabling auditors to find and match with available audits based on their expertise and qualifications. The key deliverable was the design and development of the marketplace web application.

We planned the project with Brainhub simply as a rewrite of our application from a no-code platform to a new solution, but our vision evolved over time. We wanted to extend our product with new features and optimize te user experience.  

Brainhub managed these changes very effectively and gave us the feeling that they were really in control of the project. All processes, changes, and risks were documented, and the Brainhub team always warned us of the consequences of a given decision so we could choose the best options. 

The Brainhub team was attentive, prepared, and solution-oriented. We could trust them and relied on their recommendations. Their services were of a high standard, and we didn't have to worry about the delivery itself, which saved us a lot of time.

This regular cadence of meetings ensured everyone was aligned and updated on project developments. 

For day-to-day communication and task management, we utilized Slack and Jira, respectively. This combination allowed for seamless and organized collaboration. Tasks were tracked, discussed, and resolved efficiently within the Jira platform, while Slack served as an immediate channel for any quick queries or updates.

A Brainhub UX designer reviewed our website and performed a Heuristic Usability Evaluation, analyzing the website's Language, Priority, Universality and Visual Clarity. Everything that can be seen and experienced on the website was evaluated across these five general categories. The end product was a report with the findings and recommendations.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Brainhub's heuristic evaluation of our site yielded 36 issues that we were able to action to improve our site's usability. We are eager to see how this affects the user journey once the site is launched.

The result of the project was a roadmap for website improvements. We received a 100-page report, which listed the issues along with explanations of why each particular issue is important and proposals for fixing them. The report also included specific suggestions for A/B testing and estimations of the issues and solutions in terms of their impact on business objectives.
