SITA is an international company that provides services to the air transport industry including airlines, airports, and governments. The type of services are telecommunication networks, messaging, and any application needed by airlines to operate. At the airport, we provide the check-in kiosks, baggage tracking, etc. I’m the research and development program manager for artificial intelligence.

What challenge were you trying to address with CloudNesil?

We needed to build a team of data scientists and data engineers to work on a predictive platform for an airport.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their data scientist worked on data modeling for a specific part of flights. She first gathered the data that is needed for the predictive algorithm to produce time predictions. She used Apache Spark and Deeplearning4j, and developed in Java.

We work with a data scientist who is a Ph.D.

How did you come to work with CloudNesil?

I got in touch with the founder of CloudNesil. We hired him as a consultant working for another company. He recommended us a very talented person.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent €100,000–€250,000 ($124,516–$311,290 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2017 and it’s an ongoing relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They provided a very good candidate that meets our needs. They delivered good service. We’re confident that we will be able to operationalize the predictive model to help grow our business.

How did CloudNesil perform from a project management standpoint?

To communicate, we use Outlook and Skype. Communication was good. They’re really dedicated to the success of the project, which is great for a consultant.​

They tried to understand my needs so they could propose the best possible candidate at a very good price. It is a great quality to price ratio. They’re technically very good and quite inexpensive compared to the U.S. They are very good people and nice to deal with.

The data scientist who works with us is quite innovative. We appreciated her.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They need to increase the size of their company while retaining good talents, especially in their home base. They’re not well-known worldwide.

We had serious problems around finding talented individuals that we could combine a team together on the biggest problems of the company.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have a very decent interview process both for our own to-be employees and also for the partners we are working with. Cloudnesil people were pretty passionate about technology and they were willing to learn our way of doing things.

we have around 10 people from Cloudnesil and they are all developers in different grades.

We are a team, and team is performing well and could be able to follow their timelines.

We are delivery team oriented, delivering in iterations, no hierarchy teams. we use discord for communications.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their passion for technology and their full commitment to the project are impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In time, team become much more mature, in the future they can execute better.
