I’m the director of a wellness products company. We sell wellness products such as saunas, steam rooms, and other relaxation wellness equipment.

We needed a company that could provide us with development support across a few different platforms.

We hired Controlf5 to provide web design and development support. They’ve been building Magento 2, WooCommerce, PHP, and WordPress websites for us since 2016.

We typically provide them all the images for the sites, and they’re in charge of editing the photos, implementing them into the sites’ designs, and developing the sites. Aside from that, they’ve also been able to guide us on which platform is best for certain use cases and customize platforms based on our specific needs.

We’re currently trying to migrate our own platform from WooCommerce to Magento, and they’ve been a great help because of their expertise across both these platforms.

We’re growing year on year, and we believe that that’s down to the quality of the websites that Controlf5 delivers. They’ve been consistent in delivering high-quality sites on time and within budget.

How did Controlf5 perform from a project management standpoint?

Controlf5 has a very efficient, responsive, and timely team. Some projects do take a little bit longer because of the quality or functionality that we’re trying to achieve, but they’re usually very patient, flexible, and quick to turn things around.

We primarily communicate through the freelancing platform, but we also occasionally use WhatsApp, email, and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like how Controlf5 is skilled across different software and website platforms because they can advise us on which platform is the best to go for and educate us on the advantages and disadvantages of each. It’s nice to work with one company as well even as we move from one platform to another.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s a bit difficult to communicate with them and keep track of things through the freelancing platform. It would be nice to have a platform where we could track their tasks and progress in real-time.

Be very clear in what it is you're looking for and provide lots of visuals and working examples. You also need to have a real idea of how you want things to look and function.

No, the only small problem is the time difference so find myself up late into the night on some occasions when I need to speak to them directly in order to clarify my needs.

I worked with one of the project managers on a daily basis coordination, while a top level discussion happened with the owner as well at times.

The website design as well as the features suggested by the team through the course of the project were great. We could approach them with feedbacks from the client for a particular issue and received proper attention until the issue was resolved. That way, the whole team is very cooperative and understanding.

The project was managed in a very professional manner and with full ownership. We maintained all communication on the portal where we hired the team, whereas day-to-day communication throughout the project was done on Skype.

I was satisfied with the final result. The project took longer than planned due to some miscommunication but once it was all fixed, it was delivered well.
