We wanted to be more up to date and technologically-savvy, bringing new ideas to our online presence. The younger generation prefers doing things online, so offering e-commerce capabilities was important.

DevTechnosys developed a designer tool which people could use in order to go through the entire process online, without going to a physical location.

We had tried to build these functionalities in the past, but the company we used simply put together some plug-ins. DevTechnosys provided a lot of custom HTML coding, giving us exactly what we wanted.

There were many companies to choose from, but we hired DevTechnosys after looking at some of their past work. It was what I needed in terms of quality. I had opted for cheaper services in the past, but I needed something more.

We started working with DevTechnosys in October 2016.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The site is still too new to quantify metrics for it.

How did DevTechnosys perform from a project management standpoint?

DevTechnosys has responded to and completed any change requests I gave them within a couple of days. I've appreciated DevTechnosys' project management, and would definitely use them again.

What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?

I appreciate DevTechnosys' timeliness and how much they seem to care about what I say. Other partners I've worked with pushed back on my ideas, but DevTechnosys handled everything I gave them.

Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?

Because DevTechnosys is based in India, there is sometimes a lag in our phone calls which can become frustrating. We've been able to resolve that by communicating through email. It's the only issue I have with DevTechnosys.

We didn't want to work with Swiss or German companies as they are quite expensive. I searched for Indian web developers online and found a few directories. I contacted DevTechnosys along with 2 or 3 other companies. They were the fastest to reply, getting back to us almost immediately.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with DevTechnosys at the beginning of December 2016. The collaboration is ongoing. The website would have been completed, but we have changed the scope.

The site isn't finished yet. It's designed to provide a quick overview for our company, so it doesn't have many functionalities.

DevTechnosys has had a quick reaction time to our change requests. I've been satisfied with them.

I haven't worked with many other web developers, but I'm happy with DevTechnosys. They have done and continue to do a very good job.

Our company provides consultation and implementation for specialized financial and software projects on behalf of a slew of organizations in North America. We have performed multiple installations of database and ERP [enterprise resource planning] systems for organizations. I am the vice president of strategic relationships for the company. I engage with clients and discuss their technology requirements.

What challenge were you trying to address with DevTechnosys?

We are currently working with a large conglomerate in the drinks industry. The company was implementing a uniform service that allowed users to obtain a clothing size based on the measurements they inputted. The system was meant to decrease return rates and solidify the uniform contract for North America.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DevTechnosys was hired to assist us in the process of coding and developing a front-end website and backend application that utilized our client's sizing technology. The front-end service identifies what the system did, allowing users to sign up and create profiles as well as allowing brands to create accounts with backend access, thus reviewing and identifying the measurements of their clothing. Our technology includes a widget through which the technology can be inserted into different websites as a white-label product. It installs into pretty much any website and can spit out sizes bases on the calculations customized in the backend.

The system also has reporting functionalities, and it can be used for dynamic commissions for each item entered into a cart. On top of reducing returns, it can also help clients make money on the front-end as required.

How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?

Our vetting process was quite extensive, focusing not only on price but also on competency and process flows. DevTechnosys had been mentioned to us on a couple of occasions, and we got in touch with them. DevTechnosys is a very structured group in terms of handling business and responding to clients. They have a detailed process flow, following best project management methodologies.

How much have you invested with DevTechnosys?

The project cost was more than $50,000. I estimate that the same work would've cost us threefold in the United States. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with DevTechnosys at the end of summer of 2016. We're currently undergoing a final review of our project.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Our client has loved the tool built by DevTechnosys. There were some tweaking recommendations from their side, but this is true of any project. The solution is highly customizable, with many options for user-friendliness.

How did DevTechnosys perform from a project management standpoint?

DevTechnosys has a PMP [project management professional] certification. Their team has followed those standards closely, addressing legalities, following up with clients and holding them accountable when necessary. Projects will always have scope creep if the customer isn't kept in line.

What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?

I've appreciated DevTechnosys' follow-up and responsiveness. This isn't seen a lot. Every communication has been dealt with and responded to in a timely manner. We usually saw replies come in 24 hours at most.

Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?

No. DevTechnosys has done a great job.

We are an emerging company in Spokane, Washington. My business partner was a former city councilman, and he teaches entrepreneurship in a couple schools in the area. Our name will probably change next spring [2017] as we expand. I am the co-founder.

What was the scope of their involvement?

There are several thousand independent grocery chains around the United States. Some of them have their own apps for tracking grocery lists, but most of the chains don't have that. Our app is called Grocery Navigator, and one of the features lets family members share grocery lists. We're hoping to release that in the Spokane area with a local grocer, and then move it to other chains as it grows.

I searched online and eventually found Upwork. DevTechnosys had good ratings on their site. When we reached out to them, they were very fast and professional to answer our questions.

It looks great. The expectation had been to get a prototype, but it's much more than that. We're adding more functionality, including tracking recipes, and then we'll send it out to some of the grocery chains.

We work with the lead analyst at first, and then he hands it to a technical project manager.

What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?

When we changed the plan from a prototype to development, they changed very quickly. They are very flexible.

I think we might need an automated tool to do some of the bug tracking.

Our business challenge was to increase accessibility to our customers. We wanted a solution that would make video CV [curriculum vitae] creation as easy as possible. DevTechnosys helped me with planning and developing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DevTechnosys provided all project development phases in development of our video CV platform. The project required developing an online video CV submission platform for unemployed candidates in Estonia. They developed a very comprehensive approach as we wanted to have our reputable partner panel in the backend system so that they can access CVs submitted by the end users. DevTechnosys provided integration recommendations, design samples, and web development.

They have developed for other Estonian company, and that's where I got the recommendation.

The project lasted from January until late March of this year [2017].

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I've never received a complaint from one of our customers. Everyone was satisfied. I handle the local maintenance with customers. I then communicate the requirements to DevTechnosys, who works on making any changes. We never had any significant issues with them. Whenever something came up, they would take care of it very quickly.

What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?

Their flexibility and willingness to adapt to our changing needs stood out. Their service is excellent, and I've developed a light friendship with our contact there. He works hard, wants to get things fixed, and takes responsibility.

Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?

Throughout our working relationship with DevTechnosys, we have been allocated several project managers, all of whom have been extremely conscientious and provided us with a good service. It is not unknown for them to work late to help in an emergency or to meet a deadline. Quality assurance is dealt with both ends.

Sandwich Islands Publishing is our company, and we're based in Maui, Hawaii. I'm in San Diego, California – I work remotely. We've been a publishing company for 35 years now. We publish an annual visitor guide for Maui called Best of Maui. It's a hardbound book that goes in the hotel rooms and condos there. We contacted DevTechnosys a few years ago for the first time to help us with app development for the iOS and Android platforms and to help us with our website and to try to integrate them together. I am the production manager.

What challenge were you trying to address with DevTechnosys?

It was for building two apps and web development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I'm more on the art director and production designer side of the business and do writing and creative stuff like that. As far as the whole programming, that's totally foreign to me. We had a basic website set up before that was taped together. They were helpful to get us into something that looked much better, and it functioned extremely better. It was much easier for us to do updates. They did the front-end and backend development of the site. It's completely a brand new site.

How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?

The original contact was through Elance [now Upwork]. I had put up a help wanted listing with a description of what I was looking for and had several companies contact me. They were one that seemed to have some samples of what they had done and had a good grip on what we were looking for.

It was $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

It's ongoing. The last iOS update broke our app, so they've been working on that. It's been a few years since we've done our updates, so they've been working to rebuild a new app from the ground up on both Android and iOS and reintegrate it with our website and did some updates with the website, too. We started in the summer of 2013 – maybe July.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I don't have anything. I have snapshots of different days, but it's one of those things we haven't been keeping up on. We need to have that for our media kits, too, and we don't have it. How we gauged it is through our advertisers. We have many advertisers in our book – more than 100 different companies. They're the ones that have seen an increase of people coming in with the app in their hand and asking questions. Some of them said when they get a phone call, they'll ask what the source was, and they've definitely seen an increase, too. The book is there when people get to the island but, with the app and website, we catch people before they get to the island, which is important so they can pre-book stuff.

How did DevTechnosys perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been great. I've spoken to them a few minutes during the whole period we've worked with them. We do many messaging through Skype and emails. They're great. I'm on Pacific time here and even when I'm in Maui – I don't know what time it is where they are, but they always know what time it is where I am, and they hit me up. They know I'm up at 7 in the morning, and that's when the messages start rolling in. Even before I go to bed, they'll still be messaging me, which I think might be their morning. They're good at accommodating my schedule and keeping track of my schedule to know when the best time is to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?

They seemed to understand what I was going for with the app design from the beginning. We have a map that's integrated with our listings where you can click on the map to see the listings, locate yourself as a Google Maps or Yelp would work, and be able to see what's around you. That was important to us. Many of the other people that were pitching us couldn't get that concept. They immediately understood it, and they had some sample screenshots right away for us. Then, in developing everything it came out very well, and it integrated very well. The other thing I appreciated was they build the administration panel for the website to where I can edit the listings live and everything updates in the app and the website immediately.

Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?

Everybody always wants things done faster. When I find bugs and give them the bug fixes, they're usually back the next day with an update of the apps. They're very quick and efficient. Right now, we're off the App Store with our app on iOS and waiting for this update. We should have it going tomorrow or the next day. I don't think it's any fault on their part at all. I think any other developer would be in the same timeline. Communication has been great. When I give them changes or explain what I'd like to see different, they have a great understanding of what I'm looking for. The next update usually has it fixed well.

The challenge we wanted to address with DevTechnosys to automate our sales channel and design a channel for a wardrobe business with an option to expand this solution later for furniture as well.

The scope was to design and develop web based e-commerce solution, where customers can choose the wardrobe design from available templates and customize it according to their needs. From the partner side, we used design and development services.

What was your process for selecting this company to work with? Why did you choose them over others?

We selected them from a portal of freelancers. We got lot of proposals and did evaluation for selected ones. Their proposal was very clear and they understood the needs and our business process. They also had experience with more or less similar projects.

Can you give us a general estimate of the size of the project in terms of dollars?

The project cost was around $60,000.

What was the timeline of the project (start and completion date)? Is it ongoing?

We started with DevTechnosys in March 2015 and the project was completed in October of the same year. We finished the project, and the second phase is currently in a planning stage.

The development side of the project was done very well. We are currently doing integration with factory inhouse. We do not have any metrics that quantify the success of the project right now.

When working with this company is there anything that sets them apart compared to other partners you may have worked with?

They have very strong communication skills. Their response time is quick and their delivery is fast.

Do you have any constructive criticism? Is there any area that they could improve?

Not really, it would be great if they had more skillsets at their disposal, namely Oracle. Then I would be able to use them for more projects.

I was looking for a company that could give me a good fixed price since there's not much money at my end. This was my first endeavor into outsourcing, and I wanted them to develop a good product for my clients and me. At this initial stage, all are for my known clients. I don't have much knowledge about web development, so they did all the development and design stuff. They delivered three projects for me.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided web design and development services to me. They developed my website using Cake and CI. We needed all three websites from sketch and wanted to create a modern and updated look as well as a user-friendly experience.

DevTechnosys came recommended by a colleague. We started working with them for one project, and then I started using them for other projects. I talked with others, but they were much more costly for me compared to what DevTechnosys quoted. Another big reason behind chose them was that they delivered a successful project to one of my friends.

Not at this time. They accomplished what we were looking for our websites.

It’s a new site that I’ve set up. It’s a buy back trading site. We trade in old DVDs, games, and CDs for cash. The products and prices are fetched from Amazon’s API using algorithms to calculate different percentages of the prices. I am the owner.

What challenge were you trying to address with DevTechnosys?

I was looking for someone who’s done this type of work before, especially with Amazon API. I had other projects I’d done in the past which did not go according to plan because the person I’d used didn’t know enough about the project itself. When I approached DevTechnosys, they actually understood the concept perfectly. Not only that their coding is excellent, I’ve been very impressed and I continue to use them today.

What was the scope of their involvement?

It’s mainly the understanding of the project itself. The management of the project was excellent. The communication was excellent too. The price they quoted for me was fantastic.

How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?

I checked the other work they’d done and also called some references to find out how other people dealt with them. I thought I’d give it a go to see how good they are, and I was blown away by their expertise.

So far, it’s been just over 47,000 pounds. You can put it in the $50,000 to $200,000 range, but it’s still ongoing and there’s going to be an app designed as well for iOS. That’s going to be the next stage.

It’s ongoing. I started in March with them.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I will continue to use them for the foreseeable future. Their bug testing is excellent. If I find anything, they fix it the same day, which I’m really impressed with. Most other designers I’ve dealt with have taken one or two days to get things fixed.

How did DevTechnosys perform from a project management standpoint?

When I started with them, they were quite slow. That’s my personal opinion. But after getting involved in the project itself, I found them very excellent with their communication skills and they got back to me on time - very quickly while the project was going on and still today.

What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?

What impressed me is the ongoing support I’ve gotten from them. They have helped me a lot with ideas which others don’t do. What I would tell them to do, they would just do, whereas DevTechnosys comes up with better solutions to the problem. They actually find a better way, which I like. It’s like they’re involved in the project itself.

Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?

Not really. I was amazed at the fact that they excelled on the project to the degree they did. The quality of the communication and how they got back to me really quickly was great. At the moment, I don’t think they should change anything.

We’re a new organization. We’re developing a new classified online portal - a system for clients. I am the founder.

What challenge were you trying to address with DevTechnosys?

We needed them to develop the front and backend of this system. We interviewed quite a few developers. We had a business plan of what we needed the system to do and they fit the bill. They came off with a good strategy and timeline of getting things done. We awarded the contract to them to develop this e-commerce website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They used AJAX and then MySQL for the database backend, and PHP as well. I’m not exactly sure of all the details that they used. Those three came up in the studies when they were giving us the background on what they’ll be using.

How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?

We basically we posted a project description on Upwork. Through that system, we interviewed different providers. They were the ones that were able to meet the timelines that we wanted. They were the best to understand the specifications that we laid out and came up with a game plan for us. Pricing wise, they were pretty reasonable.

How much have you invested with DevTechnosys?

The project cost was between $50,000 and $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

It’s ongoing, we are in the testing phase. We’re pretty much towards the end. They’re doing testing, and the next phase is going to be for them to install it on our servers. Then it’s going to be handed over to us. I know they’ll be providing support for the first three months until we upload all the content and the rest.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

As far as working with them, I found that communication was pretty good. They’re very responsive, so that was one good thing, and they met all the milestones and timelines that were set out. We’re still in the testing phase, I’ll know more when it’s up and running.

How did DevTechnosys perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well. They assigned one guy in the beginning and he was our point of contact during the design process. Then it was handed off to another manager for development. There was always a person being in touch with us, and a second person from whichever phase the project was in. I have no complaints.

What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?

Nothing really. I don’t have a benchmark to compare them to. This is not really our business. One positive thing that really stands out was their communication initiative as far as keeping on top of the project. They were hassling me for feedback and also testing and reviewing the progress. I never had to go after them and ask what was going on. They kept on top of me and got me engaged and involved. They also made sure I was part of the design and development process. I really liked that.

Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?

Not really. I don’t have anything outstanding that would jump out at me as a business. That’s why we kept paying them. We never held back any money. They did what they promised they were going to do.
