We wanted to improve our online presence, so we needed someone to help us develop our website.

We started the web development and design project with Digita Comms with a consultation phase to identify what we wanted for the platform.

They then provided us with some design mock-ups for our approval, and eventually implemented the one we wanted into the infrastructure they’re currently building.

The team is utilizing WordPress as their main development tool.

I would advise you to be structured with your approach so in that way, you can easily manage and mitigate conflicts in the project.

We interviewed 6 different teams that we found on Upwork, Steve responded to all of our questions promptly and completed our pre-interview questionnaire. His team was well-versed in all things web design.

We broke down the project into 4 milestones, based on deadlines our marketing department had set. All milestones were completed on-time. The milestones went as follows:

• wireframing
• content/graphics
• seo/sem optimization
• quality assurance and launch coordination

We worked with Steve, the lead coordinator/web designer, one of his copywriters, his web designer and his SEO/SEM specialist.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received incredibly positive feedback from our CEO and multiple third-party stakeholders/partners. In the past, we had poor experiences with web designer, the project was either not completed on time or as desired. Steve's team nailed it out of the park!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Fantastic workflow. Fast communication between myself and Steve (during or off office hours), as well as great communication with our IT department for migration and launch of the site.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed at which they completed their milestones, and the quality of the design. They've made sure our website was up-to-par, if not better, with the leading competitors in our field.

None that I can think of...

For what projects/services did your company hire Digita Comms, and what were your goals?

We had already designed and structured the website and knew exactly what we wanted, what we needed were developers who could read a well crafted brief and run with it at pace - in this particular case the pace extremely fast.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We reviewed a number of vendors and as cost was not the primary factor it came down to portfolio and the technical delivery, specifically around SEO which Digita excelled within.

The designs were already scoped in Figma with a semi functional prototype, however I know from experience that the biggest obstacle is bringing the design to life within a technically excellent site.

We worked with 5 members of the Digita team and whilst there was a single point of contact, daily stand ups were held with whomever was needed to support that part of the project - I have to say that the entire team were excellent and I do not give that level of praise away lightly.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The site has literally only just launched but I have already gone through an SEO analysis and the site is structured exactly as requested and delivered to the extremely high specifications which were part of the contract. Feedback wise I don't think I have found a more dedicated external team before, the timeline was tight by anyones measure and most if not all of our team and theirs worked for 3 weeks straight - including weekends, that is exceptional - as are the results.

Personally I prefer Jira but for various reasons we were using Trello, the entire project was mapped out by myself and Steve (the project lead at Digita) and from there we held daily stand ups to ensure we meet the extremely tight deadline of 3 weeks (including all weekends)

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their calm approach to what could have easily been an otherwise chaotic project and their dedication to the project went above and beyond at every step (especially over long days and the weekends). Their communication was particularly impressive, this is usually what lets external resource down, but Steve was always on hand and very helpful at all times (day and night).

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I have thought about this, no. They are a superb team.

We were rebranding our business from being a "brand builder" on Amazon (trading as Pace Commerce) into being a "brand acquirer" of micro-Amazon FBA brands. We needed a new website to represent our new vision for the company, and to bring potential sellers to us in order to get a valuation for their business.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found this vendor on Upwork, they already seemed well reviewed and their portfolio of existing work fitted exactly in line with the kind of concept we desired.

We had an intro meeting via Zoom to discuss goals & objectives, and throw out ideas of how we wanted the site to look from both a branding, colour scheme and structure / functionality point of view. We were then sent initial brand logo and colour pallet ideas, once agreed wire frames were built for each page before moving into adding content and graphic design overlay. Finally, we built a custom coded valuation tool that allows existing Amazon business owners to get a valuation for their business. This was executed in a fantastic manner and works perfectly.

Steve was our main contact and project manager throughout, I am unsure how many people are in his team, but they always delivered in a timely manner.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

This website has allowed us to raise our company profile. We routinely use it as a reference point when dealing with investors and stakeholders, as well as directing potential sellers to it when they want to get a no obligation valuation for their business.

We communicated largely through Upwork messages and normal emails, with the occasional Zoom run through.

I was most impressed by their ability to understand our vision even based off of the reasonably vague ideas we put forward. Not only did they fully grasp what we wanted, but they delivered the project flawlessly, on time, and within budget.

I honestly would not have anything to add here, everything was excellent.

For what projects/services did your company hire Digita Comms, and what were your goals?

Time had come to give a serious makeover to our website, with new corporate identity and including new features such as location map of our project, videos, blog section, newsletter signup forms and improving the contact us forms. As we are a small setup in terms of number of employees, we didn’t have in-house website developers so we did some research and found DigitaComms to develop and design the new website layout for us, using Envato and WordPress. The new website was made to optimize SEO performance, with the goal to increase organic traffic, and inbound links through shared blog content.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online, and had worked with a few companies in the past, with whom we were happy too. Steve at DigitaComms came in with some very impressive ideas and design proposals, so we chose to go ahead with him.

We had an initial meeting to introduce and brief Steve on our business model and activities, which needed to be shown in the brand identity and webdesign. Following a brainstorm session on possible website architectures and styles, Steve and his team provided different mockup versions for us to choose between, and later adjust. We eventually opted for a landingpage with all subpages in one long “scroll website” which we felt was the most responsive and engaging for our audience of busy sustainability and climate change professionals. Our second main focus was to create a great setup for our blog, so our marketing department could easily write and tag the necessary blogs, which was done really well.

Steve was the actual project manager and our main point of contact throughout the entire process. This gives an extra level of trust and improves communication.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Already short time after launching the website, we saw that our copy content started to get positioned well within Google, which essentially saw our traffic and DA increase, compared to previous performance. Our blog also made the foundation for our newsletter subscription, which we directed towards existing and new potential clients. DigitaComms also assisted on designing the Mailchimp template and installing same, on a separate project.

We were in almost daily contact with Steve, whether that was him giving us updates, or us sending corrections/additions and new ideas. We held several Zoom calls during the entire process, and also used Google Drive to share copy content.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Apart from being a very strong and experienced web designer, they are very professional and communicate very well. He grasps very quickly what the client is looking for in terms of functionality and design, even with very little materials or sketches available.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Usually nearly every business has some room for improvement, but in the case of DigitaComms it is very hard to put a finger on anything really. Flawless service and performance so far, and we will keep working with Steve, and happily recommend to others.
