The most measurable outcome was the improvement in site performance and user experience. After the revamp, the website loaded faster, worked smoothly across devices, and was much easier to navigate.

Sandeep managed the project well. He was organized, communicated clearly, and kept us updated at each stage. Anytime we had feedback or needed changes, he responded quickly and made the updates without any hassle. It felt like we were working with someone who was really invested in getting it right, not just checking boxes. Overall, the process felt smooth and reliable from start to finish.

What stood out most about working with Sandeep was how approachable and easy he was to communicate with. He made a technical process feel simple and collaborative, which isn’t always the case with developers. He was patient with our questions and flexible when we needed adjustments. That level of openness and professionalism made a big difference and made the whole project more enjoyable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Fortmindz could have done differently?

Overall, our experience with Fortmindz and Sandeep was very positive. If I were to suggest one area for improvement, it might be to provide a bit more proactive updates on progress during the quieter phases of the project. While communication was always clear when we reached out, having more regular check-ins could help keep everyone even more aligned throughout the process. That said, this did not impact the quality or timeliness of the final work.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

FortMindz has helped us deliver an MVP of the mobile app successfully. The Mobile App 'SweetLifeSaver' is available on Apple and Google. There are currently zero bugs or flaws in the production app.

It took a year to deliver a tested product that went through various design evolution and on-the-fly creative features development. Without any advertisements we have double digit initial adopters with good testimonials. The app is generating modest revenues.

We did not initially ask for a Project Manager. We only wanted an agile engineering team that quickly cranks out MVP features and is flexible and amenable to adopt fast paced changes and new ideas. FortMindz initially appointed a PM that did not work out for us, as Project Management comes with a bunch of structures and methods that did not suit the creative phase of the MVP development. In Phase II, we have a PM that enables the team to directly interact with the Product Owner which is a great plus. We have weekly cadence meetings, project messaging tool, meeting tool, and GitHub repository. The engineering team is empowered to take decisions and work on a mutually agreed pace. The PM was able to deliver a Scope and Schedule document, and other documentation as needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The engineering team was flexible and amenable to changes. It is a learning team, that does not get frustrated with functional and technical challenges. They are polite, listen well, and do their part in coming up with design and engineering solutions that helps build a decent product. We visited them at their company HQ and they were the most gracious hosts! The entire company staff was friendly and demonstrated a focused work culture. Their principals take care of the customers and staff well. The company does not sell or oversell themselves which is the best part. This enables us to focus on the product quality and give them additional work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Fortmindz could have done differently?

1. Creative content creation and messaging needs good business English-speaking and writing skills. Fortmindz can benefit by hiring such savvy English-speaking analysts to frontend with customers, for requirements gathering and understanding, testing, and data analysis.
2. Time to market is key in the App business. It took us 1-year to complete the MVP. We are taking an extended time for Phase II. Given that we have subscribed to a number of data subscriptions including the major data syndication subscription, the operating costs are high for the App without the full fledged features to support the increased sales and marketing. An agile team will push forth and crank up working software faster. Fortmindz can benefit by following true Agile processes by producing working software every 2 weeks.
3. Aesthetics and cosmetic features of the App including font types, sizes, color scheme, standardization etc can be further matured and jazzed up by reviewing every UI component mandatorily with a UI/UX analyst. That way, the quality of the visible outputs can delight any customer from the get go and increase customer and consumer affinity to the product.
4. Codebase needs to be pushed to GitHub very month end without being asked. Such Codebase should be further tested to see if it can be installed on a new envrionment and if it will work correctly as part of disaster recovery and continuity of business planning for the customer. This can help Fortmindz take on help desk and operational services of IT systems for us.

Fortmindz Private Limited provided design services. They redesigned some pages to focus purely on the video-based journey for monthly memberships and courses. Previously, we focused on many customer journeys, but Fortmindz Private Limited narrowed it down to those two. They helped us design the homepage to match that journey and made changes to two other pages. We required them to provide us with the HTML.

Fortmindz Private Limited was more proactive with the design due to their experience. We did some tweaks along the way, but we were happy with their first draft and what they provided in the end. Other companies would’ve expected us to drive the design, but they made great suggestions.

The only negative was that we asked them to provide the project in React, but they delivered it in HTML and PHP format.

We have gotten great feedback on the design. We have yet to fully launch it.

They were able to equip our site with custom features that fit the needs of our small business. Some of these features were made to seem not possible or taxing for some of the other teams that we interviewed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The milestones were not quite met to what we expected, however, we rolled with these changes smoothly since we are not of a big scale business yet. Some of the communication and deliverables were weak midway, but we were able to jump on a call and remedy outlying tasks or miscommunication thus far and got the ball rolling again.

Some of the details towards the end were also not done super well (like SEO or little details that seemed to be overlooked to just get the project done). But overall, given that my client is a bit slower in delivering the necessary photos or content, I can understand this urgency and tendency to cut corners.

Firstly following simple instructions. In out job posting I ask several questions which instantly shows those who can communicate. Communication is a key area. The second thing was working with us, and building simple sites functionally.

A project manager has always been our main contact point, however on occasion we spoke directly to the developer to speed up the comms.
