Hiteshi built a new system to automate our existing database. The team developed the automation from scratch using HTML. Hiteshi's solution automatically registered new leads and sent an automated welcome message. Then, the system sent follow-up messages about our services, depending on whether they were interested in renting a house or buying properties. Hiteshi also offered maintenance services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We limited the work of our employees. Instead of spending resources messaging new customers, the automated software sent the messages directly, making work easier, using fewer resources, and enabling us to focus on other tasks.

How did Hiteshi perform from a project management standpoint?

Hiteshi met deadlines and stayed on budget. We agreed to talk twice a week via Google Meet to discuss the project's progress. The team leveraged Jira for project management and GitHub and Slack for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Hiteshi had a responsive approach to communication, and the project ran at a high speed. The project was initially intended to take longer, but the team completed it ahead of schedule.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Adopting the automation was initially quite complex. Hiteshi could've sent us a manual on how to use the automation. We had issues with that, but the team quickly sent a few manuals and videos we could use.

Give them your requirements. Hiteshi asked us to submit a few items, such as our website and homepage. If you provide them with everything they need to work, the team will deliver the best quality job.

Our website looked better thanks to Hiteshi's work, and the team added features like the AI chatbot. Users could use the AI chatbot to communicate and send messages before contacting our customer service. I tested the website, and it was good and made our work easier.

Hiteshi updated us weekly on the project's progress. The team was responsive and consistently replied within a few minutes to an hour. We used Slack, Jira, and Google Meet.

Every time we communicated with Hiteshi, they replied quickly. The team was fast and responsive.

I can't think of anything Hiteshi can improve on.

Listen to Hiteshi's instructions and give them everything to work with. After we contacted them and told them what we wanted, they gave us a few suggestions.

I’m the president and CEO of EngenderHealth, a nonprofit organization that works on reproductive health.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hiteshi?

Before we partnered with Hiteshi, we faced a big challenge. Our field team across 15 countries had disconnected data about mental health programs, gender-based violence services, and youth outreach. This data was in spreadsheets, paper forms, and a local database, and we couldn’t make sense of it. As a result, it was nearly impossible to spot trends and programs affecting vulnerable groups.

For example, we didn’t know whether girls in rural areas were dropping out of care programs or if disability-inclusive services were challenging their targets. We needed a unified intelligence system that could organize this data and help us predict where help was needed most urgently. Our goal was to turn raw data into actionable insights to protect marginalized communities faster and more effectively.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hiteshi built a custom web-based platform with AI components called Project Uplift. They implemented a secure cloud-based system so that field workers could include data offline via mobile apps. They also created a predictive analysis engine and a mobile app available for iOS and Android. Their team developed the platform using Python and Amazon Connect.

We had various people from Hiteshi working with us, including Manoj and two engineers.

We found them through a Google search. We did some screening and compared them to a couple of other companies, but Hiteshi was the best choice.

We worked with them from February 2021–August 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The platform revealed that sexual and reproductive health services in Kenya were underused, not due to a lack of clinics, but because clinic hours conflicted with school schedules. We also noticed a visible increase in adolescent visits within two months.

How did Hiteshi perform from a project management standpoint?

When we asked for a last-minute feature to track LGBTQ clinic experiences anonymously, they prototyped it in about 10 days without pushing deadlines. We also had weekly check-ins with one of the engineers. Overall, it felt like they were an extension of our team.

We communicated via Slack and Zoom and used Jira to manage the project.

The way they treated our sensitive data was impressive. We had information that we didn’t want leaking, and they designed privacy safeguards that exceeded global standards. It wasn’t just a transaction; we shared a purpose together.

We’ve seen higher engagement, faster emergency response, and improved health management efficiency. The project has also reduced administrative tasks by 40%.

How did Hiteshi perform from a project management standpoint?

The project lead runs weekly check-ins and joins our internal meetings to understand our workflows. The only delay has been during the third-party lab API integration, but they’ve communicated this early and promptly and provided a temporary workaround. We use Jira and Zoom for project management and communicate via Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Hiteshi’s developers shadowed our health managers for a day to see how our clients interacted with our service. Their team is empathetic and has an approach unlike typical technical vendors.

We just finished the project, so we haven’t noticed anything so far. There were a few bugs when we first launched the app, but the experience was great.

Hiteshi was good at delivering things. They were very responsive when it came to project management. We used Slack, Google Meet, and email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their level of expertise. They delivered exactly what we needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could provide more training sessions for the team. The website and app they delivered needed a few modules or worksheets. It was hard for our team to get it the first time, so it would’ve been better if the software came with a manual.

Hiteshi has some plans they use, so the advice is to follow their plan. We explained what we needed to do, and they made a few suggestions and gave us plans on how they could make it better. We followed those plans, and it was a success.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They took the time to research what we needed and invested more time in understanding construction workflows so they could do a better job. In fact, they researched labor laws and made product improvements. The team offered suggestions on how they could help further, which showed us how committed they were to the project.

Hiteshi was excellent in communicating with our team, meeting deadlines, and delivering presentations. In the event of a delay, Hiteshi was very explicit about the reason and the revised date.

We ended up needing to redo a lot of their work because it wasn't necessarily designed to scale over time. However, since Android is more difficult, this was to be expected.

We started with small task until we approve to have them as full time developers.
