Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the managing member of a IT consultant company. This particular company is a single member company that does outsourced IT services that are too small for Kemper Technology Consulting.

For what projects/services did your company hire IT GuidePoint Corporation?

I've worked with the client company for 15 years managing a work order system for them that was built back in the 90's and was using out of date technology. IT Guide Services did a good job of convincing the customer that we need to bring the data into a real database and move off of this platform onto a commercial system.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We worked to figure out the best methodology and timeframes to get the work down and Guidepost did a good job of creating stopping and starting points for the project.

Guidepost worked with us to define timeframes and work output for the end product. We talked often to make sure we were meeting target dates and keeping track of deliverables.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The CTO work with us and our partner company to determine targets and the final products that were needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to convert the old system into a read-only view of their data, while they are moving to a new commercial system. The data was complicated as there were no controls on what data was entered so we spent a lot of time cleaning up the data or determining what was corruption and what was just invalid data.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent. The collaboration worked well as there were plenty of touchpoints.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The CTO does a great job of getting parties to agree on an outcome and working to determine the best outcome. Because of the wide variety of experience, we seemed to come to the same conclusions during the process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing.

We heard about them from a local ad and interviewed them as to a fit. They were very interested in assisting us and wanted new clients in our area.

They assessed our current system and helped evaluate effective replacements including ease of use and cost.

The main contact was the firm owner.

We selected an existing program to add on to an accounting module after many years of being undecided.

Very effective. The team was organized and very detailed in their preparation.

The follow up and attention to detail.

Sometimes even too much data or detail was provided which is not necessarily bad bud may not always needed.
