We are a qualitative market research firm. We do immersive, in-person ethnographic research through interviews, shopping, and participation in different behaviors and activities.

What challenge were you trying to address with JMaverick Studios?

Most of our products involve video capture and editing. We need a videographer to join us for our excursions and interviews and edit that content into video reels with highlights, key learning, and insightful comments.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They fulfill all our videography needs, including shooting, editing, and onsite sourcing. We’ve worked on 12-15 projects with them, though not every project involves all three services. They use high-end, state-of-the-art equipment and produce market research videos designed to delight our clients.

They combine video with onscreen titling and visual effects. We often give them additional digital artifacts like photos, icons, and logos to incorporate into edited videos. We also work with them to select music to play in the background.

What is the team composition?

We work with Jeremy the most. He does all the edits and sets up the work. He is based in Los Angeles. Our work takes us all over the U.S. and some of it is global. When we have the budget for his travel, we bring him to our locations; otherwise, we hire someone local within his network. We’ve probably worked with 12 to 15 members of his extended team.

How did you come to work with JMaverick Studios?

One of our team members had a personal connection with them. We’ve worked with a lot of videographers in different capacities, and thought they’d be good to work with. We have people we like to go back to. We were impressed by their work on the first project we used them for. Since then, we’ve gone back to them repeatedly.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000 and $100,000 throughout the course of the relationship.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2016. We have two projects that are currently in progress.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We get qualitative feedback from our clients. Most cite how awesome a project was or how much they loved the product. We get repeat business in part from the work they produce on our behalf. They contribute to our company’s success.

How did JMaverick Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re responsive and highly organized. We never had an issue.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their editing skills are impressive and they execute well against our requests. They add a level of thought, skill, and creativity to our projects. They are collaborative and bring inspiration to the work.

I needed a nimble producer who I could trust for a quick turnaround project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

JMaverick’s founder produced and directed a few videos for us from start to completion. In some cases, projects started with existing videos. We did not use any other services.

The founder is my single point of contact.

How did you come to work with JMaverick Studios?

I look for agencies to partner with whenever we need to outsource specific skills. I reached out the founder because we worked at the same company for two years. They’d also completed projects for my former employer. Their stellar performance on those engagements made them the obvious choice for Studio B Films.

We spent between $10,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Work with Studio B Films started in May 2015 and the latest project wrapped in May 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We produced the first project for one event. The client got so much value from it that they reached out a couple months ago requesting quick and easy updates to make it more timely for 2018. That speaks to the quality of the work and how effective they were.

How did JMaverick Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

The founder and I have a very close and collaborative rapport. He always meets deadlines.

We use Vimeo and phone calls. It wasn’t necessary to add him on our shared communication platform.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is extremely positive and dedicated to achieving quality results.

Are there any areas they could improve?

A local office near our company would help.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Allow them to be creative in the early stages because they’re great filmmakers. The more active they are in the collaboration, the more value they’ll bring to the project.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have used Jeremy and his team in the past and were very impressed. He has become my go to company for this.

We needed a fresh look for our social media ads and needed the video to be formatted for each different platform.

Jeremy brought in he story board guy together they advised us and produced the pieces.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I have a production back ground and an in-house production team, so I have enough technical experience to appreciate Jeremy's attention to detail, technical expertise and commitment to excellence in his work.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

My experience is that I never have to worry about follow through from Jeremy and his team. They seemed very dedicated in doing the job right and on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

"Integrity" is the one word that comes to mind
