BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a freelancer with my own freelancing platform and business. I provide Art Direction services for major corporate brands and utilize outsourced talent to fulfill midsized campaigns.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Mauve?

I hired Mauve to help us out with running different campaigns for our services and platform. We were looking for someone with knowledge of the SaaS and Web industry that could revamp the content on our website and create a complete PPC campaign on Google, Facebook and Instagram.

How did you select this vendor?

One of my friends showed me their profile on Linked In. I saw that they were a new company but had a handful of happy clients. I ultimately decided to go with Mauve rather than a stand-alone freelancer because they could provide me with all the services we needed for this project and for future needs. Above all, they seemed to have a lot of skin in the game.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

We had an introductory call where we discussed our challenges and problems. After asking us a few questions and listening attentively, they told us they'll come back with a proposal. A day later they sent us the proposal and I was very happy to see the content refresh, the ad campaign and also SEO optimization included. They got to work, keeping me updated on everything they did every 1-2 days. I always had direct-access to view the changes in real time which was nice. After a couple weeks the work was finished and the campaigns were set up. It felt like we were "taking over" the internet. They ended up creating a Google Search and Display campaign, a Facebook Traffic and retargeting campaign, as well as a Pinterest campaign to try and see if our target audience was located on that channel. Our website was re-written and even re-structured to reflect our messaging and goals.

What was the team composition?

I communicated directly with Vlad, the founder and Creative Director at Mauve. I also got to meet Rob, their paid media analyst. Vlad also showed me 2 other people that worked on the project: a writer and a designer for the ad campaign. It was nice to have an entire team work towards our goals.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Overall, the ad campaign drove tens of thousands of visitors to our website. And since they had optimized the words and structure of the text, it was easy to generate new leads looking for a freelancer to fulfill a role. Before hiring them the website felt "all over the place" and although I could manage the design and layout, the copywriting was something I struggled with. They took their time to explain all the work and even set me up with Google Ads and Analytics so I could track the performance. All the changes they made resulted in a significant increase in business. We had to hire an assistant to help with the amount of appointments we had. Really happy with how our collaboration turned out.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our team is just me and my partner. It was very easy to communicate with Vlad and Mauve. He made sure to reach out often, walk me through the steps taken and answer all the questions I had promptly. I would say communication was one of the best "extras" that we got with their service.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They have a small team that created such a huge impact. I also found their overall process to be very professional - from the way they talked to me, to onboarding, to delivering the work. They went the extra mile without asking for the extra dime.

Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?

I am just excited to see them grow their team.
