The scope of work covered both technical SEO foundations and ongoing strategic optimisation, with a clear emphasis on measurable commercial impact rather than superficial traffic growth.

At the outset, the engagement included a comprehensive technical audit of our website. This reviewed site architecture, crawlability, indexing issues, page speed, mobile performance, internal linking structure, and legacy content dilution. The output was a prioritised remediation roadmap aligned to business impact rather than simply technical neatness.

A detailed keyword research and opportunity analysis followed. This was not limited to high volume terms, but focused on intent driven, commercially relevant keywords across our active therapeutic areas. The work included competitor gap analysis, keyword clustering, search intent mapping, and alignment to conversion pathways.

Content strategy formed a major component of the programme. This involved restructuring core service pages, consolidating overlapping content, developing new landing pages targeting high intent search terms, and improving metadata and on page optimisation across priority sections of the site. Importantly, this was delivered in a way that respected regulatory and ethical constraints within clinical research.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measurable outcomes have been both performance based and commercially meaningful.

First, we have seen sustained improvements in rankings for priority, high intent keywords. Several core terms moved from page two to page one, with multiple commercially relevant phrases now consistently ranking in top five positions. Importantly, these are non branded search terms, which demonstrates genuine authority growth rather than reliance on brand recognition.

Second, organic traffic has grown steadily, but more importantly, the quality of that traffic has improved. Organic enquiry volume has increased, and conversion rates from organic sessions have improved as content and landing pages have been refined to better match search intent.

Third, the balance between paid and organic acquisition has begun to shift. As organic visibility has strengthened, reliance on paid media for certain recruitment campaigns has reduced, improving overall acquisition efficiency and lowering blended cost per patient enquiry.

In addition to growth metrics, technical health indicators have improved. Site errors have reduced, crawl efficiency has improved, and page performance metrics are stronger than at baseline. These foundations are critical for sustainable long term SEO performance.

Overall, success has not been defined by traffic alone, but by measurable movement in rankings, enquiry generation, and contribution to patient acquisition objectives.

Their project management has been structured and consistent throughout the engagement.

From the outset, deliverables were clearly scoped and prioritised against commercial impact rather than being presented as an open ended technical exercise. Workstreams were mapped into phased activity, which made it easier to align internally and allocate resource on our side where required.

Monthly cadence has been reliable. Reporting and strategy sessions have been delivered on time, and action items are clearly tracked. Where dependencies have existed, for example content approvals or technical implementation from our team, these have been managed transparently rather than allowed to drift.

In terms of responsiveness, they have been flexible and pragmatic. When our study pipeline has shifted or recruitment priorities have changed, they have adapted focus areas quickly. The strategy is not rigid. It evolves based on data and business need.

Communication is direct and commercially literate. They are comfortable being challenged and will explain the rationale behind recommendations rather than defaulting to industry jargon. That builds confidence internally, particularly at leadership level.

What impressed me most was their commercial maturity.

Many SEO agencies operate almost exclusively within their own technical framework. Soap Media demonstrated an ability to step outside that and understand the commercial mechanics of our business. Conversations were not centred on traffic volume or abstract ranking wins, but on patient acquisition impact, study pipeline alignment, and measurable return.

Their adaptability also stood out. The strategy has never felt templated. As our recruitment priorities shifted or new therapeutic areas came into focus, they adjusted keyword targeting and content focus quickly, without losing long term structural momentum.

Another differentiator is their transparency. They are comfortable discussing what is working and what is not. There is no defensive positioning or over reliance on vanity metrics. That level of openness builds trust.

Finally, their consistency. SEO can sometimes feel front loaded with enthusiasm and then taper. In our experience, the cadence, engagement and quality of thinking has remained steady throughout.

The new site enables us to present our products and new developments directly to consumers, with a clear customer journey and improved accessibility across desktop and mobile. It has also allowed us to broaden our reach and begin building a presence within the B2C space.

As we initially had limited experience working with websites and WooCommerce, their team was particularly helpful in guiding us through the process and explaining things in a way that was easy to understand.

A full log of all the details of the project was made, with deadlines given along the way to hit each target.

The inital project went well over the estimated timeframe. I think the build was far more complicated than initially thought. However, when we had to put he website live (because the other we had at the time was hacked), Soap Media were able to get the site live and to a level where orders can be placed/it could be used by customers, within a few weeks. Each mini-project with them since (smaller add-ons, new features to the same website) have been delivered on time.
