I run a full service employee communications agency based in the UK.

For what projects/services did your company hire Tricks Studio, and what were your goals?

My primary client is a leading global blue-chip pharmaceutical company. I regularly use Tricks as a key partner on a range of production projects, largely for animation/motion graphics videos, but also sometimes for graphic design. I require creative, high quality animations to support my client's employee communications activities.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I had worked with the Tricks team over many years so I was in no doubt about their quality and ability to deliver. I require a partner able to interpret the brief and then produce high quality, creative solutions with fast turnaround and cost-effectiveness. Tricks meet all these requirements.

In 2021 Tricks produced approximately 50 individual projects for me, often with many individual ;projects taking place at the same time. I have a good working relationship with the team and their knowledge of my client's business, brand and culture enables us to agree briefs speedily. We follow a standard process of briefing, storyboard & production. All projects must meet my client's brand guidelines, which Tricks know inside out.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I work directly with Jim and Gordon at Tricks. We correspond and communicate regularly about projects and have an open channel. Tricks are extremely responsive and always deliver on time and budget.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

My clients are always impressed with the quality of the animations produced by Tricks. The fast turnaround is valued and the finished product almost always meet my client's requirements first time. We regularly get repeat project requests from the same clients and approaches from other parts of the business from recommendations,

I know Tricks well enough to have an informal comms channel, usually via email but occasionally by Zoom when briefing new projects. Tricks always keep me updated on the status of live projects.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Responsiveness, relationships, quality, creativity, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, proactiveness. Tricks are always willing to go the extra mile, often at ridiculously short notice, to deliver. I see Tricks as a key partner for my business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, I have no complaints at all about Tricks.

Project management was very effective, everything was delivered on time and on budget. We hade very tight timelines so all feedback had to be turned around quickly, and the Tricks team actioned everything very fast. I appreciated that I was always given clear instructions and deadlines for when I needed to provide feedback in order for the team to keep moving.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Very creative animation and moving graphics

Are there any areas for improvement or something Tricks Studio could have done differently?

Overall, I was pleased with the result. When I received the first draft of the final video, I wasn't happy with the music selected or the voiceover artist - the audio was too low energy and did not fit the cultural feel. We only had a few days left to finalise the video, and Tricks Studio very quickly took action on my feedback, found a new voice artist, re-recorded the voice over and changed the music track. I appreciated this quick action and I know in the future they come to me earlier for a steer on the audio feel so we don't have to make changes at the last minute.

We needed Tricks to develop a script and animation for a client to present to all staff members

SOLUTION

How did you select Tricks Studio and what were the deciding factors?

Tricks came highly recommended as well as being part of a business network that I'm also in. I selected them based on the recommendations as well as their fabulous show reel

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Tricks were supplied with an outline of the key messages as well as a creative style that needed to be followed, on approval of the script, they then created a story board which allowed the client to have their input at this stage. On approval of the script and storyboard, Trick then went on to create the animation, on budget and on time.

I worked with both James and Gordon at Tricks, James is Head of Productions and Gordon is Managing Director
