The goal was to create an online match-making tool that would connect researchers and students around projects, with an expertise database in the background, the ability to create themes and chat on the platform. Website and smart device capable, as well as a modified version for kiosks.

Website, smart device capable created with several important functionalities, as well as the modified version for the kiosks all were provided, without delays and with outstanding customer service.

All items were delivered in a very short time frame. With outstanding customer service that was not only responsive to our needs, but also participated in brainstorming sessions on how to best accomplish our goals.

Universium has helped take ideas that I've had and bring them to life. For over 4 years they have helped with all manner of technology, software development, and database builds. A major win with Universium was their early recommendations on our app stack. They made suggestions that increased our development velocity while reducing costs.

Our process builder feature is rather complex and went through a number of different attempts before the team found the right solution. This is one of those times where the project took longer than expected however they communicated regularly, made good suggestions based on the feedback and invariably stuck with the feature until it really shined. 

Our software is API and data heavy. They've done a great job with integrating to other apps while retrieving that data and storing. They've been patient while we've had a long development time and many revisions.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Universium builds that I've requested have been consistently on time, close to on time, or ahead of schedule. Unfortunately software development doesn't always follow my desires for timelines. We have not yet gone live to the public but our early feedback with existing clients is substantially positive. I will say however the delays in release have nothing to do with Universium. The delays are due to my commitment to having nearly perfect accurate data.

As stated projects and individual issues are regularly delivered on time. Our team has regular stand ups and we discuss concerns for the project, give each other feedback then build what we need. They've worked great with our team members outside of Universium as well. Jira has been our go to software for tracking our releases. The process is clear and everyone knows what they need to do.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They've stuck with the project through some tough times over the past 4 years. Nobody has a big ego. We all just care about getting it right no matter who the idea comes from.

Not at this time. We have had lots of improvements how we work together over the last 4 years. Teams grow together if they want to. Universium and our team has done just that.
