Woden has been engaged to define our strategic narrative, mission, and differentiators. They’ve also aligned our platform messaging to our enterprise story and supported activation through leadership materials, website copy, and social content. In terms of deliverables, Woden has delivered or substantially developed our story kernel, mission, vision, core values, differentiators, platform messaging architecture, and StoryGuide access. They’ve also provided website copy support, slide decks and rollout materials, social media refresh support, and overall messaging.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The clearest outcomes of our engagement with Woden have been the creation of a unified enterprise narrative, the alignment of our platform messaging, and the successful integration of that messaging into key business materials such as leadership presentations, annual report content, and website development. These outcomes have shown progress by moving us from narrative exploration to practical brand activation (still in progress). Moreover, our early feedback has been encouraging. Our leaders have been highly engaged, and our narrative has been seen as more modern and strategically useful. Our messaging has also quickly begun to influence our major materials. The feedback has been less about whether the direction is right and more about how to make it even more authentic, practical, and easy for leaders to use consistently.

Woden’s project management has been strong overall. They’ve been organized, engaged, and helpful in keeping momentum on a complex branding effort. They’ve delivered the core messaging work in a timely manner while also remaining flexible as we’ve refined the scope and activation needs. Woden’s ability to turn a complex enterprise story into a practical, repeatable messaging system has been impressive. This system has respected our heritage, clarified our strategic value, and been applied consistently across leadership communication, platforms, and brand materials.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Woden has brought strong strategic thinking and useful messaging frameworks. However, they could add even more value by making the language feel more immediately usable, accelerating practical rollout tools, and simplifying stakeholder alignment across a complex multi-platform organization.

I'm the VP of sales and estimating for Sure Steel, Inc., a construction company. We supply and install structural steel, metal building systems, insulated panels, cladding, and mass timber for complex projects in the healthcare, energy, advanced tech, and transportation sectors.

We were looking to solidify our brand vision and messaging so we’re can tell a consistent story to our customers to encourage evangelism from them to be considered the benchmark in the industry for what we’re do and to ensure our client journey came with predictability that they can trust.

Woden has provided a story guide with consistent and predictable brand messaging that could get us through the next 3–5 years. The story guide has been the main focus to this point. We're now getting into the implementation portion, where Woden will help us inject our story into our marketing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have weekly check-ins with Woden, where they provide updated drafts of the story kernel and the story guide. We've gone through about 6–7 updates until we landed in our final version. This was done within the original timeline that Woden presented to us. Our internal team has received the story guide very well.

How did Woden perform from a project management standpoint?

Woden is very prompt and always delivers on time. The team does a great job driving the action forward and not letting things get stalled. We communicate through virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Woden's attention to detail is impressive. They always come prepared, listen to our feedback, and incorporate it appropriately.

The completion of the Storykernal and the delivery of a phase one training at a national meeting with market facing employees.  Both outputs were above expectations and valuable to our organization.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

How quick they learn is impressive.  Often times it takes months for a consultant to get up to speed on the details and then synthesize and drive to the output.  We put Woden on a tight schedule, and they never pushed back or fell behind.  This is unique having worked with hundreds of consultants over the years it is refreshing to know Woden can keep up with a fast-paced environment.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Woden could have done differently?

It's early in our journey but at this point, I have little critisim.

We have been lost, stuck in the status quo.  Our company is known, but not known.  We have a variety of older and new emloyees, neither of whom can articulate consistently who we are and what we do.  To some, we sell commodities, to others we well solutions, to others we quote what people ask us for.

We needed help building our story.  Developing our mission, our vision, or values - an overall coporate identity.  We needed a simple, yet cohesive way to communicate and live our new vision throughout the company while articulating it to the market.

The team has provided a full-day workshop, six one-hour workshops, and a 120-page story guide that sets everything down on paper.

Woden's deliverables have been in the form of documents and meetings. We've noticed internal buy-in, which we can sense. We've woven the story kernel into all marketing materials we produce, including decks, collateral, and web copy. Team alignment has been a key objective. We've had a lot of turnover, and our product has changed a lot, so the aligned messaging has been really valuable.

They then crafted our brand story and provided materials and support as we (continue to) work on sales strategies along with producing marketing materials.

This project is ongoing. Currently we are working on updating our marketing materials, which will then be reviewed by Woden. We are also updating our website to align with the brand strategy offered by Woden and the Woden team is coaching our sales staff to embody the new brand.

The Woden team (Alicia, in particular) was highly impressive with delierables, group meetings, and  responding with impressive speed to our requests.

With all the eduction regarding Woden's process... it felt like maybe they were giving away the secret sauce. If they show everyone all of the steps for creating their materials, wouldn't anyone be able to do it? The end result has showed us that this team is something truly special. They identified our place in the market that we had completely missed. They crafted the language of our story - enabling us to revise our marketing materials and empower our sales team. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Woden could have done differently?

The recommendations that I have should be considered as minor as they are intended. 

1. The education process (where Woden took us through the Hero's Journey) needed to be edited down to take less time... as our teams understood it quickly. 
2. Our sales and Marketing folks talk a lot and can steer things away from the point. Having a clear agenda prior to coaching or longer meetings as well as clear assignments so that we can make the best use of time.

Ed is extremely knowlegable and well versed in myriad of various business and markets.  Alicia was exteremly organized, communicative and a quick study in learning the nuances of our business, resulting in  clear and insightful narratives,messaging and reccomedations.  This was a very effecient process and no wasted time on areas/pathways that were not important to the goal of the project.

They made us feel like we are the most important client they have and all efforts were devoted to accomplishing and delivering on their promise/proposal unlike most large consulting firms.

Woden provided us with the tools to tell our story to our clients and potential clients, but equally important to share with each of our colleagues who we are and how we service our clients. In short, we found a clear way to talk about what makes us different and essential.

Anya was fantastic to work with. Her attention to detail, curiosity, and commitment shone through every step of the process. All those interviewed by Anta gave her very high marks for her process and professionalism, and her ability to capture how those people felt about what we did was critical. Anya never missed a deadline and was ahead of us ever step of the way.
