Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a website that we are thrilled about. It has all of the big features that we were wanting, and it feels just how we were hoping it would.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Most of the communication was over email, collaborative documents, and video calls. It was sufficient to get everything done on a great timeline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The finished product was exactly what we needed, and they had a polished and professional process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were a couple of times where I would have liked more input from someone with more experience. Every employee has to be trained somehow, but it would be helpful to have some more active input from another more experienced employee in video calls.

They were able to complete the website in 3 weeks. The first week they met with us and talked through what was needed for the site. Then they mocked up a few iterations that we could choose from. The next week they finished building the site based on our selection. Then we nailed down details, fixed errors, and received training on how to manage the site ourselves going forward.

We have received a ton of positive feedback about how our site turned out. The site flows and looks way better than what we would've been able to do in-house.

The only issue we had was communicating edits. I would recommend they utilize a tool that allows their customers to make notes on the webpages like Markup.io

Starting with a discovery meeting with Ben, the Big Red Jelly team gathered information from us so that they could understand our business and our specific needs. They walked us through the process of copywriting and website design, with several iterations through one-on-one meetings each week through project completion.

There were several members of the Big Red Jelly team that worked on our project, but highlights and my personal interactions were with Ben (Director of Growth), Preston (Build Designer), and Lyndsie (copywriting) - and all were fantastic to work with! Great service and awesome results.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was completed on time and we are extremely pleased with the results. Our website is a Big upgrade from what we were working with previously and we are excited for the future.

The workflow with the BRJ team was as predicted, streamlined, and flawless. It's not often that I'm able to say that (about other vendors historically). Communication was consistent and effective, and the BRJ teams' response to questions was quick and comprehensive.

Outstanding expertise, excellent communication, personable and kind staff. We had a great experience working with them.

Links sent from the team for reviews were emailed multiple times, which created some redundancy...but other than that - fantastic.

Our website was created in 2017 and was lagging in functionality. I contacted Big Red Jelly for advice on updating the existing website, but it would have been too costly. They recommended a complete re-design which would give the site a fresh new look with all the current programs and improve on conversions.

They were highly recommended by our hosting company as being one of the best web developers in the industry. Trust and cost were major deciding factors. After the initial consult, I felt confident about moving forward with the project and the product they produced exceeded my expectation.

We had a kickoff meeting to discuss our goals and the steps involved in the project. From there, we were assigned to a web developer team that listened to our vision for the project. Each week there was a Zoom team meeting to go over the status of the work. There were upgrades made to our Wordpress site, Woocommerce plugins were reviewed and some changes were made to improve on the functionality of the site.

A project manager was our main point of contact. She was in charge of overseeing all the details and providing updates and feedback. Her expertise as a brand and build strategist was top notch. We also worked with a web build director who assisted with technical inquiries and provided solutions to help improve the functionality of the site.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have just launched the site and are confident that the final product will help improve traffic and conversions. The site is modern, clean and has many calls to action buttons that will make the customer experience better.

We had weekly Zoom meeting to go over the updates of the project and the next steps involved. There was email communication throughout and the team was extremely responsive and proactive to our requests. The project stayed on track without any delays due to the knowledge and expertise of the team.

Their approach to the client's needs was extremely impressive to me. They listened and made us feel as though we were their VIP client. This company is built on strong principals and their trustworthiness and expertise makes them stand out from others in the industry. Immediately, there was a level of confidence placed in the company, and we knew we were in excellent hands with them.

No. They were amazing from start to finish.

The previous website was obsolete and lacked good visuals and structure. I hired Big Reg Jelly to create new branding (logo, style guide, messaging) and rebuild the site using the new branding and copy.

I reviewed several vendors that offered branding and website builds within my budget with a preference for vendors without hosting or monthly contract requirements. The packages offered by Big Red Jelly made the most sense in terms of deliverables and pricing. They had consistently high reviews on Clutch and Google, and they also could build the site on Wix (preferred).

The project consisted of 2 milestones, branding and the website build. After the initial discovery meeting, I met with Big Red Jelly weekly to review branding deliverables, focusing first on the visuals (logo, colors, fonts) and later working more on the brand messaging. The branding milestone was completed in about 5 weeks.

After another onboarding meeting, the website build milestone used the same process (weekly sessions), and it was completed in about 4 weeks.

I worked with 1 web design/brand strategist for the branding part of the project. I was fortunate to have the same person assigned to me to build the site and another new build strategist who recently joined the team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The process used by Big Red Jelly allowed me to start with vague ideas of what I wanted and end up with polished branding and a site that reflected the new branding. It took only 8-9 weeks to start from scratch and launch the new site.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The weekly reviews were great for providing feedback on the deliverables. Before each review, I would prepare a document with all my input, and Big Red Jelly would review the feedback before and during the call. The timeframes for both the branding and build were short, but I never felt that deliverables were rushed or that I did not have enough time to provide detailed feedback.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Big Red Jelly presented and delivered services in a very streamlined fashion, including how they bundle and price their service packages, project delivery, and follow-up after project completion.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

A few minor issues with the back-end aspect of the Wix implementation became obvious after transferring the site to me. I was familiar enough with Wix and worked with Big Red Jelly to quickly resolve them, but it may have been challenging for other clients with no experience with Wix.

I’m the owner and operator of a self-employment platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Big Red Jelly?

We hired Big Red Jelly to help us market our platform and create a brand for us. They also designed our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Big Red Jelly has spent three weeks building our website using WordPress and other commonly used development tools before transferring ownership to me. They’ve created content for my services page based on our business values to make the site more attractive to clients. The site does have a blog page, but it’s hidden. Our plan is to create blog content and use it as a sales funnel for people to click our contact form. 

Meanwhile, the team hasn’t done much work on the site’s backend, which is mainly for receiving emails. For context, I’m encouraging people to fill out our forms with their contact information so I can follow up and put them in our pipeline. Given that, Big Red Jelly doesn’t need to build any complex CRM systems. However, they’ve helped me connect the site to HubSpot. Their resources provide website maintenance on an as-needed basis since it’s more economical for me to maintain it myself, but if I have a major problem, I go to them. 

Beyond web development, Big Red Jelly has also created branding assets for me. For our logo, they’ve submitted 10 designs, and we’ve picked the most thought-provoking one. Their resources have supported my social media marketing efforts; they give me company recommendations for my growth strategy and PPC campaigns. I’m also using their hosting services and can follow up with them whenever I want to grow the business.

I primarily work with 3–4 people. Josh (Co-Owner) has been my first contact. He’s done a discovery call with me and sold me the idea of the engagement. Their web designer has handled the web build for me and stylized it without any content. Meanwhile, their brand person has helped me develop our logo and create the about me and services page. Then, their web builder coordinates everything and put all information on the website.

I did a LinkedIn search and found Big Red Jelly there. They had great reviews, so I had a phone call with Josh. Talking to him hooked me; he was personable and understood my challenges and business. He was able to diagnose my problems quickly and put me in the right direction.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I don’t have any marketing metrics yet, but when people look at the website, they’re wowed by it — in other words, I’ve received great feedback from end users. On top of that, the site generates much traffic even though we haven’t done any marketing campaigns.

Based on our Google Analytics data, we’re getting a good amount of engagement time from people that are landing on my website. They also get there through organic search. I’m confident that I’ll get better metrics once I start marketing. 

How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been great. They’ve done exactly what they’ve promised and charged exactly what the SOW indicated. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Big Red Jelly’s strong point is their understanding of branding and web development. They try to set up everything for their customers so that when clients are ready to advertise, they have everything ready to go. They cover everything from cybersecurity to branding and design, and I’m quite impressed with everything they’ve done. To communicate, we have weekly Zoom calls. Then, we follow up on things via emails. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d like Big Red Jelly to support me in integrating with HubSpot CRM’s automation features. I was expecting them to do it, but it wasn’t part of the original scope of work. To be fair, it was partially my fault for not understanding what they exactly did. I wasn’t sure who to talk to about the CRM tool. If I could get extra help on that, I will feel more confident with my website. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Fully understand what you want and make sure you’re getting what you need. Big Red Jelly does an excellent job, but you should make sure you’re getting everything you require. On top of that, if you need to develop a brand, know that they’ll do an amazing job at that. In my case, I feel more confident in the direction that my brand is taking because of their help.

They’re currently hosting the site for us and doing backups in case something goes wrong. They’re not maintaining the site, but we’ll have them do that once we get closer to the event.

We met somebody from Big Red Jelly in a business networking group. Price and timeframe were big deciding factors. We quoted the project with a few other places, and they charged much more. In one case, they quoted about 10 times as much and told us it’d take 6–7 months. Big Red Jelly could do it in one month, so it was a clear choice.

How much have you invested with them?

Thanks to our friend, we have an excellent deal; we’ve spent about $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We got the ball rolling in December 2021, and they started working on the project about a month later.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have statistics yet because we’re working towards an event, and it won’t happen until the end of the year. However, Big Red Jelly took what my wife and I designed and made it even better. Everyone that has seen the mockup version has commented on how beautiful and marvelous it is. Overall, we’re pretty pleased with how they’ve handled the project.

How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re awesome. The team does a great job at keeping up with the deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to work with customers is outstanding. Sometimes we can come off a bit strong, but they’re really patient and kind with us. They do everything they can to make us happy, and the team goes above and beyond our expectations. Overall, Big Red Jelly helps the client get exactly what they want.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication is slightly rocky, but it isn’t bad. We have weekly meetings to discuss how the website’s doing. During those meetings, we mention if we need to fix something. However, we’ve noticed that sometimes we come back a week or two later, and the problem is still sitting how we left it. I don’t know if they’re not taking notes, but if we send it to them in an email, then we’re fine.

In that sense, they could pay a bit more attention to what’s going on in our meetings and ensure that everything we say in there is taken care of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It depends on your website needs, but I’d say go for it in most cases. They’re great to work with.

We haven’t had any feedback yet because we’re just launching. However, they exceeded our expectations. Big Red Jelly did a great job on the logo and was very flexible with our revisions and edits. We highly recommend them.

Project management is excellent. Connor is a highly-valued team member; he can explain, educate, and train other people — he’s training my CMO on how to make edits. Also, he’s well versed in website development and engagement and great with follow-through. 

We use Ninety.io and communicate via email, Zoom, Google Meet, phone calls, text massages, Slack, and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They stand out for their flexibility and ability to pivot. Moreover, their response time is excellent; there aren’t delays in their responses. In general, they have good communication follow-up and professionalism.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t point to anything that I’d have them improve.

Work with Connor; he’s very involved and responsive. Overall, he’s great to work with.
